Making a dress or altering a dress is a great thing to do. This time it’s a gown. A lace black gala gown. I need it for a gala dinner in the beginning of May.
The lining is black so is the lace. That is see through and with that linking the dress is three layers. I took another dress and used that as a base for this one. I am now also using a petty coat dress ( newly bought ) and I will maybe use that as an underdress but I am not sure I lot will fit. I will do another blog about the petty coat.
I put the layers on eachother and with white thread I put the layers on eachother , the white is also easy to remove after. The lace is kinda thick and tough but this for me is the best way. And I still have to remove it.
Its not finished ! It’s a floorsweeper now, so I need to make it ancle length but that is something I need to do warring heals and with help of one of my sewing mates on class. They will measure and I will see the new line on the bottom and around the ancle.
The back I made in a V and the zipper is folded. I know I could have done that straight and that was not the way I liked it. And I didn’t want to remove it and the amount of work was so much to do I didn’t want to do it.

I will add shoulder straps and a lace liner on the sides but that is also only possible when I am trying it on and someone else pins them on me. I will share that later and add the pictures in the comments.
No end photo. I will do the blog when o wear it with all the accessories and will add the picture to this blog aswell.
