I TOOK PART IN THE DESIGN CONTEST ALREADY!
So this is not an entry…..
🧵🪡🧵
But when you love the contest and needlework this much AND you have some more things to shoe in a blog and choose another one yellow design to enter the contest, why not show off te rest. I had some things made but some were not right and some were not finished.
Now she is, together with a stola, a felt belt and pearl earrings.
But first,
This is the other blog and my entry to the contest from yesterday:
@brittandjosie/needleworkmonday-barbie-britt-designing-a-yellow-christmas-dress
This is the facbric, its a just married flag for a car. I had some left from a wedding last year. I removed the fabric and love the roses. It says “JUST MARRIED” in peach.
I made pleads every centimeter and put pins in, to make the dress and the stola. Barbie is is her yellow design dress for the fitting.
I made 4 pieces and ironed them for the fresh and stiff lines needed for the skirt.
Than she ( Barbie britt ) had to take of her yellow dress and be a fitting model, like I was for over a decade. Loved my job.
Here you see the different parts, later sewed together to create the rose and letter effect in the dress.
I pinned the dress in shape to see what I wanted, it had to be a wide dress. I love wide and flowy.
I had invisibles a turned top but that didn’t work, with pins it did but sewing was not do able. So it was a straight body up from than on.
I had to cut some of because with twisted i had more fabric than I needed with straight.
This part reminded me of the Flowerbomb dress by @ Victor & Rolf, for all you fashionistas you know what I mean. I have a picture from a museum visit to see the fashion icons they made i will add it if i can find the photo.
Sew the first line in.
Fit it again, she is still smiling.
Put on the Cumberland in white.
Here you see two out of 4 pieces sewed together.
You can still see the just married text, but not to obvious.
With felt belt.
Like yesterday with pin earrings now i use pearls to fit the white in the dress.
Stola is the last piece with pleads and she can drape that over her shoulder. Like I did ofshoulder, or on both more like a scarf idea.
This is theorising fabric. From a car window flag for the family to a wedding. I remove the pole and used the fabric. Recycle people , recycle!
SO THIS IS THE PROCES OF DESIGN 2
This is the one I didn’t want to keep from the hive, again i entered a dress already in the contest so good luck to all people that entered. I loved this sewing so much that i will share some more, just for fun. Needlework is fun and relaxing.
I sewed on a machine, and by hand. I used needles , pins and thread. I pinned the fabric on a cushion to get the design and i used pins as earrings. Costs: zero because its nothing bought.
I plan to make a matsching bag and pants, but that is Jon a next blog fro this community.
Untill next time sewers !
