The end result!
I u-cycled an old white Barbie dress to a wedding dress and a new layered evening gown. One upcycling and one new. I blogged about it before nd the dresses took a few days to make and sew. Just for fun and for the sweetest 2 year old girl I know. This is the front of the dress.
This is the backside. I used lace and cut out the flowers and sewed them on the white dress.
First I had to cut and lay them on the dress. I choose to do a round at the hem and the flowers in pairs of three.
I bought the lace at the thrift store. It was a pice 1 x 3 and costed 3, 50 euro.
This was also an option for a sexy bathing suit and who know I will make that later aswell, but I started cutting the flowers.
The dress came from an box with all my old Barbies so the dress was a bit yellow. In order to makeover the dress I used that one and washed and soaked it in florid and baking soda to make it white again. Easy and quick and very efficient!
To see if a lace top could be an option I used flowers as a top but see through is a bit much.
Beside the u-cycled dressuur , I also made a new one from scratch.
Super easy and fabric already had the lines and layers.
So she ( Barbie ) can have a reception dress, or an evening gown.
During the proces I made pictures because not all was done in 1 day.
I used wire to make a little hanger ( you tube is great to search for that ) and I had to measure the length. I need to find shoes 👠 I only have Barbie boots, so the project is not yet finished as a whole.
Its easy you cut the size and only need one sewed line. In the right lower corner you see the bra hooks I will use as a closing on the back.
The dresses turned out great, I will do the minor things to close and end the making of and send them Saturday for het birthday, or I will keep them so she can play with my Barbies here at our home.
Always fun to play with Barbie and have new sewing project that look like the dresses I would wear and make Barbie look like royalty.
