Un saludo mis queridos amigos de la comunidad de las agujas.

Es un gusto saludarles una semana más, donde es bonito compartir nuestras ideas, emociones, vivencias y anécdotas que ocurren detrás de cada manualidad.

Hoy quisiera compartir con ustedes en este maravilloso concurso pensado y puesto en práctica por nuestra amiga Katty crochet. ¿Alguna vez ustedes se han puesto a pensar de donde nacen las ideas para realizar esos concursos? Por un corto momento mientras hacía estas rosas pensaba en que de seguro a Katty se le ocurrió en el preciso momento en que llego de Chile, entró en su nueva cocina y vio que le faltaba mucha decoración. Entonces como buena compañera, para no estar sola en el trabajo de realizar cosas lindas, nos invitó a todos.

¡Yo si pienso tonterías! ¡Verdad!

Mejor entremos en el tema real que hoy nos reúne y las invito a seguir leyendo un poco de como hice estos lindos tapetes, carpetas o individuales para decorar nuestra mesa de comedor. Todos sabemos que la cocina y el comedor son uno solo; en ese recinto sagrado es donde se sirven esos ricos y suculentos platos que preparamos con todo el amor y es donde se reúne toda nuestra familia para comer.

Cuando alguien ve estos individuales tan blancos puede decir que “no” los utilizaría en el momento de comer, pero si ustedes conocieran a mi amiga Rudy, de seguro pensarían distinto.

Para ella están destinados estos individuales, en ella pensé en todo momento mientras pasaba la aguja de un lado a otro. Rudy es mi amiga de toda la vida, es una buena mujer, madre de dos hijos preciosos, inteligentes y educados. Para que tengan una idea les podría decir que ella es de esas personas dignas de admirar por todo lo que han tenido que guerrear en la vida y así poder salir adelante.

De Rudy no solo me gusta su historia de vida sino también los espacios de su casa. Cada rincón tiene algo especial que te invita a quedarte observando por un buen rato. Pero ojo, no tiene lujos, lo que tiene es un buen gusto y buen ojo para la decoración.

Cuando voy a su casa nos instalamos en el “Comedor” a conversar, recordar buenos momentos y reír a carcajadas mientras nos tomamos un rico café. Esos momentos son los que me llenan y me hacen sentir feliz.

Hoy por fin este pensamiento de hacerle algo bonito a la casa de Rudy se ha vuelto realidad y nuevamente debo dar las gracias a la comunidad de NeedleworkMonday por animarnos a realizar estas cosas que tenemos guardadas en nuestro corazón.

La flor:

Para los que son nuevos en la plataforma y que tal vez no conocen el proceso de como se hace la flor les digo que se puede hacer con cualquier tipo de material, en este caso fue hecha con dopiobelo, la tela de hacer cortinas. Se cortan tiras largas, de unos 10 centímetros aproximadamente, se plancha como si fueses hacer sesgo. Luego que tenemos una tira planchada de unos 2 centímetros, vamos enrollando y tomando puntadas con aguja e hilo para asegurar. Continuamos dando vueltas y dando la forma de la flor hasta obtener el tamaño deseado.

Individual:

Para las medidas del individual tomé uno usado que tenía en casa y dividí el tamaño entre la tela blanca y la tela roja, luego corté un triángulo con un trozo de tela de bordar para luego colocar las rosas y bordar las hojas. También le coloqué un encaje que era el que en este momento tenía en casa, pero ustedes le pueden colocar un pasa cinta o encaje bordado que de seguro hará que se vea mucho mejor.

Cuando ya tenía mi bordado hecho lo coloque sobre la tela blanca con costura en zigzag, luego uní la tela de Vichy roja y el encaje. Planchamos toda la parte frontal para estirar bien la pieza, en base a esta medida cortamos pelón para reforzar la pieza y también una tela de forro, de preferencia oscura y que combine. Las rosas están pegadas a la tela con varias puntadas de aguja e hilo, así no se soltaran al momento de lavar.

Como ven no tienen mucho trabajo, creo que me hubiese gustado colocarle sesgo blanco por todo el contorno pero no tenia en ese momento en casa. Aun así no quise detenerme para poder mostrarles este proyecto y poder participar en el concurso de la comunidad.

He visto varios proyectos y me han gustado mucho, creo que estas iniciativas en definitiva son buenas porque despiertan nuestros sentidos y nos hace competir sanamente. Pues bien amigos, les digo hasta pronto, espero que les haya gustado mi humilde trabajo y que no dejen de ser felices en cada cosa que hagan en la vida.

NeedleWorkMonday Community Contest || NEEDLEWORK YOUR KITCHEN!

Greetings my dear friends of the needlework community.

It is a pleasure to greet you for another week, where it is nice to share our ideas, emotions, experiences and anecdotes that occur behind each craft.

Today I would like to share with you this wonderful contest thought and put into practice by our friend Katty Crochet. Have you ever thought about where the ideas for these contests come from? For a short moment while I was making these roses I was thinking that Katty must have come up with the idea the very moment she arrived from Chile, entered her new kitchen and saw that it lacked a lot of decoration. Then as a good companion, so as not to be alone in the work of making beautiful things, she invited us.

I do think nonsense, don't I!

Let's get into the real topic that brings us together today and I invite you to continue reading a little bit about how I made these cute mats, folders or placemats to decorate our dining table. We all know that the kitchen and the dining room are one; in that sacred place is where those rich and succulent dishes that we prepare with all our love are served and where our whole family gathers to eat.

When someone sees these white placemats, they might say "no" they wouldn't use them at mealtime, but if you knew my friend Rudy, you would surely think differently.

She is the one for whom these placemats are intended, and I thought of her all the time as I passed the needle from one side to the other. Rudy is my lifelong friend, she is a good woman, mother of two beautiful, intelligent and educated children. To give you an idea I could tell you that she is one of those people worthy of admiration for all that they have had to fight in life and thus be able to get ahead.

I not only like Rudy's life story but also the spaces in his house. Every corner has something special that invites you to stay watching for a while. But be careful, he has no luxuries, what he has is a good taste and a good eye for decoration.

When I go to his house we settle down in the "Dining Room" to talk, remember good times and laugh out loud while we drink a delicious coffee. Those moments are the ones that fill me up and make me feel happy.

Today finally this thought of doing something nice to Rudy's house has become a reality and again I must thank the NeedleworkMonday community for encouraging us to do these things that we have kept in our hearts.

The flower:

For those who are new to the platform and who may not know the process of how the flower is made I tell you that it can be made with any type of material, in this case it was made with dopiobelo, the fabric used to make curtains. Long strips are cut, about 10 centimeters approximately, it is ironed as if you were going to make bias. After we have an ironed strip of about 2 centimeters, we are rolling and taking stitches with needle and thread to secure. We continue turning and shaping the flower until we get the desired size.

Individual:

For the measurements of the individual I took a used one I had at home and divided the size between the white fabric and the red fabric, then I cut a triangle with a piece of embroidery fabric to then place the roses and embroider the leaves. I also placed a lace that was the one I had at home at the moment, but you can place a ribbon or embroidered lace that will surely make it look much better.

When I had my embroidery done I placed it on the white fabric with zigzag stitching, then I joined the red Vichy fabric and the lace. We ironed all the front part to stretch the piece well, based on this measure we cut the pelon to reinforce the piece and also a lining fabric, preferably dark and matching. The roses are glued to the fabric with several needle and thread stitches, so they won't come loose when washing.

As you can see they don't have much work, I think I would have liked to put white bias binding all around but I didn't have any at home at the time. Even so I didn't want to stop to show you this project and be able to participate in the community contest.

I have seen several projects and I liked them very much, I think that these initiatives are definitely good because they awaken our senses and make us compete healthily. Well friends, I say see you soon, I hope you liked my humble work and do not stop being happy in everything you do in life.
