Hace unos días tuve la tierna sorpresa de ser invitada al baby shower de Paulette Valentina, quien es la bebé a la que le he dedicado estos últimos meses del año elaborando cada detalle de su ajuar de cuna. Al recibir la invitación me causó mucha ternura ya que llevaba estampada la bailarina que con tanto amor conseguí en internet y he bordado en cada babero, nana y manta de Paulette.

A few days ago I had the tender surprise of being invited to the baby shower of Paulette Valentina, who is the baby to whom I have dedicated these last months of the year elaborating every detail of her crib outfit. When I received the invitation I was very tender because it was printed with the ballerina that I got with so much love on the internet and I have embroidered on every bib, lullaby and blanket of Paulette.

Desde hace unos días venia pensando en que hacer para participar en el concurso de la comunidad organizado por nuestra amiga Crosheille y su maravilloso equipo; pero no tenía nada claro hasta este día.

For a few days I had been thinking about what to do to participate in the community contest organized by our friend Crosheille and her wonderful team; but I had nothing clear until this day.

                                   

Definitivamente supe que el concurso y el baby shower debían estar ligados. Con el poco tiempo que tengo para irme de viaje sería la tercera excusa perfecta para elaborar algo hermoso y aprovechar de despedirme de ustedes por este año ya que al terminar este post comenzaré a empacar las cosas para irnos de viaje rumbo a mi tierra natal para ver a mi madre y poder compartir una navidad más con la familia y amigos.

I definitely knew that the contest and the baby shower had to be linked. With the little time I have to go on a trip, it would be the third perfect excuse to make something beautiful and take the opportunity to say goodbye to you for this year, since when I finish this post I will start packing my things to go on a trip to my homeland to see my mother and share one more Christmas with family and friends.

¡Y como no despedirme de ustedes de manera especial! ¡Si ustedes han sido mi familia todo este año! Con ustedes comparto, comento, aprendo, rio, recibo cariño, consejo y animo cuando las cosas no salen tan bien.

Es por cada una de estas razones que dentro de muchas cosas que pude haber elaborado que escogí tejer un suéter lleno de ternura, cálido, con una puntada distinta; porque un suéter simboliza el abrigo que cada uno de nosotros recibe en esta comunidad cuando llega.

And how can I not say goodbye to you all in a special way, if you have been my family all this year! With you I share, comment, learn, laugh, receive love, advice and encouragement when things don't go so well.
It is for each of these reasons that among the many things I could have made I chose to knit a sweater full of tenderness, warmth, with a different stitch; because a sweater symbolizes the warmth that each one of us receives in this community when we arrive.

Por otra parte enfocándome más en el tema del concurso quise tejer algo que sin lugar a dudas reflejara la temporada que estamos viviendo ahorita en mi país Venezuela. Aquí estamos ¡emparamados de frio! Esta es una frase típica de la tierra andina; definitivamente este año nos atacaron las lluvias y el frio, lo único que nos falta es que caiga nieve. El los últimos días no se habla de otra cosa; sabemos que es costumbre que haga frio por este tiempo de navidad; pero ¡que haga tanto frio en la capital del país! ¡Nunca lo había sentido!

On the other hand, focusing more on the theme of the contest, I wanted to knit something that undoubtedly reflected the season we are living right now in my country Venezuela. Here we are in cold weather! This is a typical phrase from the Andean land; definitely this year the rains and the cold have attacked us, the only thing we are missing is snow. In the last few days we have been talking about nothing else; we know that it is customary for it to be cold at Christmas time; but that it is so cold in the capital of the country! I have never felt it before!

Lo bueno es que ya esta semana paró la lluvia y quedo una helada que no te deja salir de la cama. Así que creo que más uno va a tomar mucho café y chocolate caliente en esta navidad.

Mientras lo tejía pensaba mucho en que iba a decir para explicar lo que siento, en medio de todo estaba el nacimiento de un bebé, una nueva vida, la unión de un nuevo hogar y solo venían a mente cosas hermosas, así que tejer este suéter fue una experiencia muy bonita que disfrute en cada puntada que hacía.

The good thing is that this week the rain has stopped and there is a frost that doesn't let you get out of bed. So I think we'll be drinking lots of coffee and hot chocolate this Christmas.

While I was knitting it I was thinking a lot about what I was going to say to explain what I feel, in the middle of everything was the birth of a baby, a new life, the union of a new home and only beautiful things came to mind, so knitting this sweater was a very nice experience that I enjoyed in every stitch I made.

Este sábado pude asistir al baby shower y solo les puedo decir que la pase genial, empezando me sorprendió la decoración tan hermosa y de cómo colocaron la mesa para que todos estuviéramos unidos alrededor, así uno conversa más, conoce más personas. También estuvo muy divertida la reunión ya que hicieron muchos juegos, de los cuales me gané el primero. 🤣😂

This Saturday I was able to attend the baby shower and I can only tell you that I had a great time, starting with the beautiful decoration and how they placed the table so that we were all united around it, so you can talk more, meet more people. It was also a lot of fun because they made a lot of games, of which I won the first one. 🤣😂

No me pude perdonar como buena costurera que sabe medidas no haber acertado la medida de la panza, yo de abusadora le corté una cinta de metro y medio aproximadamente y creo que me pasé unos 30 centímetros. ¡Que pena!

Así que en medio de tanto frio también se puede sentir calor y abrigo si te lo propones.

I couldn't forgive myself as a good seamstress who knows how to measure, I cut a ribbon of about a meter and a half and I think I went about 30 centimeters too much. What a pity!

So in the middle of so much cold you can also feel warm and cozy if you want to.

Entrando en materia de agujas les cuento que este patrón lo encontré en YouTube con nuestra amiga crochet for baby quien hace cosas bellísimas tanto en inglés como español, muy fácil de entender.

La talla es de 3 a 6 meses y utilicé unas lanas de la marca Araña bebé. También elaboré un gorro con la misma puntada y le coloqué una cinta de Razo para decorar.

I found this pattern on YouTube with our friend crochet for baby who makes beautiful things in both English and Spanish, very easy to understand.

The size is from 3 to 6 months and I used Araña Baby yarns. I also made a hat with the same stitch and put a Razo ribbon to decorate it.

Así que como ven amigos, en este post solo hay cosas lindas para reflejar; la despedida es solo por un rato, ya en enero nos volveremos a encontrar para seguir compartiendo momentos únicos, especiales, maravillosos.
