We had THE most successful opening night of this mostra in the Galleria Artemis!
The most reinvented clothing I ever 'sold'! It had to be done in a fairly clandestine manner however, as someone locally had complained to the council, about artists selling their works... So I was discussing with the owner, how to stand in Sovereignty - to not engage with offers to contraction, as the system was beginning to reach into her space, offering dreamspells of 'licensing' and 'permissions'.
As you may already be aware if you follow my blog or podcast, I know enough of how govern-ments and the hierarchy work, to be very clear that I am not willing to fund them. In this context, we had fun with a large family group from Canada (who were on a trip to Guardia Sanframondi together): asking them to not be so visible in our 'reciprocal gifting' of money and clothing...
In fact, they had been enjoying the wine tasting at the opening, and this emboldened th all to make quite a game of it! and ended up really connecting with them all - we chatted and laughed and shared for over an hour. And they even wanted to see th Arthouse for sale listing 🥰🤗💝
They bought four pieces! Including the white-orange-pink-yellow dress, above. Each was chosen by a sister, of which there wer four, encouraged by the whole group (and myself and Vincent, of course) - it turned into a very special kind of a personal shopper/ styling/ self confidence ritual, with much emotion being expressed all round. 🙌🔥💫
The weekend was exhausting but so wonderfully full-filling: it felt like the peak of how I want to (re)connect people with clothing as a meaningful aspect of our modern reality, as a vital part of cocreating the new world. 🌞🎨🌟😄👋
The 'Janis Joplin' trousers as they were termed by the first sister to model - the blue and embroidery ones in the middle of the photo below - went down very well, and started the dynamic unfolding of a sequence of transformations...
Which culminated in the last, more timid sister, being eventually convinced by much pressure from the whole group to 'just try it on!' - my special white dress made from vintage aprons and pillow case 🥰🤗🥳
this is me wearing the white dress, from the expo last year
The women looked truly fabulous in each garment, and were super happy! This made it a VERY special event for us, it being the first proper money earned between us since... probably last year. The energy of that evening was key in unlocking some stuckness that I've had recently: primal fears around stability and survival 🙏🪷❤️🔥We also had two other happy money-related shifts of energy at the weekend, which gives us at least a few months of momentum with our vision: halleljah indeed!!
Though I haven't (yet!) found outlets for my creations near our new home, the expo gave me a serious boost towards what I hope will develop.... Here's to the next weekend!
With love!
