Hola amigos, espero que estén muy bien. El día de hoy les quiero mostrar una linda cesta que tejí a crochet. Me encantó realizarla porque tengo en mente otro proyecto en el que necesitaré una cesta pequeña. Es una cesta que elaboré con hilo de algodón crudo, lo compré en la bodega que queda cerca de mi casa. La verdad es que lo compré con la finalidad de hacer de nuevo la prueba de pintarlo con polvo para telas. Sin embargo, me provocó tejer la cesta porque además tenía curiosidad de saber si podía endurecerla con gel fijador sin aroma para el cabello.
Hello friends, I hope you are very well. Today I want to show you a nice basket that I crocheted. I loved making it because I have another project in mind where I will need a small basket. It is a basket that I made with raw cotton yarn, I bought it at the bodega near my house. The truth is that I bought it with the purpose of doing again the test of painting it with fabric powder. However, I was motivated to weave the basket because I was also curious to know if I could stiffen it with unscented fixing gel for hair.
🧺 Los materiales que usé para hacer la cesta son los siguientes:
✅ Hilo pabilo color crudo.
✅ Aguja de crochet de 2,25mm.
✅ Tijeras.
✅ Pegamento blanco.
✅ Agua.
🧺 The materials I used to make the basket are as follows:
✅ Ecru colored wick yarn.
✅ 2.25mm crochet needle.
✅ Scissors.
✅ White glue.
✅ Water.
✅ Hacer la cesta es un proceso sencillo. Este diseño lo había tejido en otras oportunidades, pero con un acabo diferente en la última vuelta. Se teje toda en puntos altos empezando con un anillo mágico y dentro del anillo se tejen 8 grupos de dos puntos altos cerrados juntos, separados por una cadena.
✅ Recuerdo que ví el gráfico de esta cesta hace un tiempo atrás, lo guardé y después empecé a tejerla, me llevé una decepción porque en el gráfico estaba la muestra de la cesta tejida, pero no era exactamente esta que tejí. Es decir, el gráfico mostraba una cesta cuyo patrón era otro.
✅ Para hacer la cesta 🧺 se teje la base y luego se comienzan a tejer 🧶 las vueltas repetitivas (según el gráfico) sin aumentos para dar la altura.
✅ En la última vuelta tu eliges la terminación o el acabado. Yo quería que la cesta se viera un poco ancha en la parte superior para que no se vea cilíndrica por eso le tejí el mismo punto, pero con un aumento en el diseño.
✅ Making the basket is a simple process. I have knitted this design before, but with a different finish in the last round. You weave it all in high stitches starting with a magic ring and inside the ring you weave 8 groups of two high stitches closed together, separated by a chain.
✅ I remember I saw the chart of this basket some time ago, I saved it and then I started to weave it, I was disappointed because in the chart was the sample of the woven basket, but it was not exactly this one that I wove. That is, the chart showed a basket whose pattern was another one.
✅ To make the basket 🧺 you weave the base and then start weaving 🧶 the repetitive loops (according to the chart) without increases to give the height.
✅ In the last loop you choose the finishing or finishing. I wanted the basket to look a little wide at the top so it doesn't look cylindrical, that's why I knit the same stitch, but with an increase in the design.
✅ Pensé que la cesta podría verse mejor con un asa. Así que le tejí una repitiendo las dos vueltas que lleva el diseño de la cesta. Me encantó porque al sostenerla le da la forma que buscaba y que necesito en ella para que mi próximo proyecto se vea muy bien.
✅ I thought the basket might look better with a handle. So I wove one on it by repeating the two loops that the basket design carries. I loved it because holding it gives it the shape I was looking for and that I need on it to make my next project look great.
✅ A pesar de que este hilo parece muy rústico y firme 😱 no lo es. Lo que pasa es que cada fabricante de pabilo lo elabora de un grosor diferente, este que compré en la bodega es más delgado que otros con el que he tejido. La cesta 🧺 quedó suave y el asa no se mantenía firme. Tenía que sostenerla para ver la forma que deseo en la cesta.
✅ Although this yarn looks very rustic and firm 😱 it is not. What happens is that each wick manufacturer makes it of a different thickness, this one I bought at the bodega is thinner than others with which I have woven. The basket 🧺 came out soft and the handle would not hold tight. I had to hold it to see the shape I want on the basket.
✅ Aproveché para hacer la prueba de endurecimiento con gel fijador para el cabello, sin aroma. La verdad es que le da cierta rigidez, pero no queda muy endurecida. Seguiré usándolo en piezas pequeñas y planas como las que tejo para hacer zarcillos.
✅ Preferí usar el pegamento blanco mezclado en cantidades iguales con agua. Coloqué dentro de la mezcla la cesta, la humedecí totalmente, después la exprimí con suavidad y empecé a dar la forma deseada.
✅ Para que seque todo el pegamento coloqué la cesta cerca del patio para que le diera el aire y el sol. Al siguiente día ya estaba seco y la cesta firme y muy bonita.
✅ I took the opportunity to do the stiffening test with unscented hair gel. The truth is that it gives it some rigidity, but it is not very hardened. I will continue to use it on small, flat pieces like the ones I weave to make tendrils.
✅ I preferred to use the white glue mixed in equal amounts with water. I placed inside the mixture the basket, moistened it thoroughly, then gently squeezed it out and began to shape it into the desired form.
✅ To dry all the glue I placed the basket near the patio to get air and sun. The next day it was dry and the basket was firm and very nice.
