Hola amigos queridos de esta hermosa y prestigiosa comunidad. Una vez más me hago presente para participar en un nuevo concurso patrocinado y organizado por la comunidad 🙋🏽♀️ siempre ha sido muy emocionante participar ya que representan verdaderos retos para mí.
Casualmente me encontraba en pleno inicio de un proyecto para mí cocina 🍳 en lo que leí la invitación a dicho concurso, espero que haya mucha participación ya que realizar accesorios o proyectos para nuestra cocina es divertido, entretenido y necesario.

Coincidentally I was in the middle of starting a project for my kitchen 🍳 when I read the invitation to this contest, I hope there will be a lot of participation because making accessories or projects for our kitchen is fun, entertaining and necessary.
Siempre me ha gustado tejer manteles. Hace muchos años elaboré manteles con diseños más complejos. Actualmente me cuesta tejerlos ya que no memorizo el patrón para lograr la figura, lo que significa que debería estar siempre muy atenta al momento de tejer y lo más seguro es que me genere estrés. Algo que debo evitar a toda costa. Entonces ahora prefiero elegir patrones que sean realmente fáciles de aprender para poder avanzar muy rápido y también disfrutar del proceso del tejido en todo momento. Ya saben ustedes que soy del tipo de tejedora ansiosa 🙂 que siempre quiere ver terminado el proyecto en tiempo récord, aunque he ido aprendiendo a llevar la vida y el tejido con calma 😃
I have always enjoyed weaving tablecloths. Many years ago I made tablecloths with more complex designs. Nowadays I find it difficult to weave them since I don't memorize the pattern to achieve the figure, which means that I should always be very attentive when weaving and most likely it generates stress. Something I must avoid at all costs. So now I prefer to choose patterns that are really easy to learn so I can advance very fast and also enjoy the knitting process all the time. You already know that I am the anxious type of knitter 🙂 who always wants to see the project finished in record time, although I have been learning to take life and knitting calmly 😃.
Este mantel, a diferencia de otros que he tejido, ha tenido la dicha de pasear conmigo. Lo tejí en mis ratos libres, especialmente en las tardes y noches. Lo llevé para el cumpleaños de mi mamá, a casa de mi hermana. Avancé algunas vueltas mientras viajaba. Tejí en la cocina de mi casa, en el cuarto y mientras veía los LIVE de algunas compañeras tejedoras de México. Les cuento que me encanta la experiencia de conectarme y tejer con ellas. No me he atrevido a abrir cámaras en vivo, pero si les garantizo que se siente súper bien tejer en grupo virtual.
This tablecloth, unlike others I have woven, has had the joy of walking with me. I wove it in my spare time, especially in the afternoons and evenings. I took it for my mom's birthday, to my sister's house. I knitted a few laps while traveling. I knitted in the kitchen at home, in the bedroom and while watching LIVE from some fellow knitters in Mexico. I tell them that I love the experience of connecting and knitting with them. I haven't dared to open live cameras, but I guarantee you that it feels great to knit in a virtual group.
Por si no lo notan permítanme comentarles que se me presentó un detallito con el mantel. Resulta que yo compré los primeros ovillos en un lugar en el centro de la ciudad, casi segura de volver por más, en ese momento solo compré 8 rollos. Los acabé muy rápido y no pude ir más al centro. Me ví obligada a comprar de los hilos que venden por las bodegas y comercios asiáticos del sector. Claro que ya estaba consciente de ese riesgo. Los nuevos hilos fueron de distintos colores y grosores, así que mi mantel se ve un poco raro si te detienes a mirarlo bien.
In case you haven't noticed, let me tell you that I had a little detail with the tablecloth. It turns out that I bought the first balls at a place in the center of the city, almost sure to return for more, at that time I only bought 8 rolls. I finished them very quickly and couldn't go downtown anymore. I was forced to buy yarn from the yarns sold in the bodegas and Asian stores in the area. Of course, I was already aware of that risk. The new yarns were of different colors and thicknesses, so my tablecloth looks a little weird if you stop to look at it closely.
Mi idea inicial era tejer un mantel cuadrado, tenía en mente hacerlo de una medida máxima de 1,50 cm de ancho por 1,50 cm de largo, pero no tomé en cuenta que, a diferencia del primer mantel que tejí, este no es un Granny y a medida que fui avanzando iba tomando forma rectangular 😊 así que tuve que tejer un poco más de lo previsto para lograr el largo deseado y aún así solo de dos lados porque los otros dos quedaron cortos. Igual se ve muy bonito el mantel.
My initial idea was to knit a square tablecloth, I had in mind to make it with a maximum size of 1.50 cm wide by 1.50 cm long, but I did not take into account that, unlike the first tablecloth I knitted, this one is not a Granny and as I progressed it was taking a rectangular shape 😊 so I had to knit a little more than expected to achieve the desired length and even then only on two sides because the other two were short. The tablecloth still looks very nice.
Elegí este diseño porque ya había hecho una muestra pequeña con esta figura. Solo tuve que definir cuántas haría por fila y medir para tejer el número de cadenas de inicio. No fue complicado. Me gustó mucho tejer este mantel y ya quiero empezar otro que le prometí a mi mamá. Ella también tiene una mesa cuadrada en la cocina y se vería muy bien un nuevo mantel en ella.

I chose this design because I had already made a small sample with this figure. I just had to define how many I would make per row and measure to knit the number of starting chains. It was not complicated. I really enjoyed knitting this tablecloth and I already want to start another one that I promised my mom. She also has a square table in the kitchen and a new tablecloth would look great on it.
