Antes de diciembre le pedí el favor a un amigo para que llegara a un local cercano a su domicilio en la capital de Venezuela, Caracas. Él no se comprometió, pero me dijo que me avisaría cuando tuviera tiempo. El tiempo pasó y mi amigo nunca me contactó para cuadrar la compra. Seguí viendo proyectos tejidos con ese material y los comentarios tarios que hacían al respecto. Por lo que pude conocer es un material hermoso y delicado, hay que saberlo trabajar y de ser posible que sea de muy buena calidad.
Before December I asked a friend of mine to come to a place near his home in the capital of Venezuela, Caracas. He did not commit himself, but told me he would let me know when he had time. Time passed and my friend never contacted me to arrange the purchase. I continued to see projects woven with this material and the comments made about it. As far as I could tell it is a beautiful and delicate material, you have to know how to work it and if possible it should be of very good quality.
Finalizando noviembre me entero de que una de mis sobrinas ya había realizado una compra 🛒 por las aplicaciones chinas, lo hizo como prueba y para aprender a comprar. Ella se puso a la orden para pedirme algunos hilos de este tipo, pero yo no me sentí muy segura porque en las descripciones no se entendía claramente la cantidad de hilo de las madejas ni el grosor. Entonces decidí no arriesgarme y además el pedido llegaría como a finales de enero si lo hubiéramos pedido en esas fechas (noviembre), por lo de temporada alta.
At the end of November I found out that one of my nieces had already made a purchase 🛒 by the Chinese applications, she did it as a test and to learn how to buy. She put herself in order to order me some yarns of this type, but I did not feel very confident because in the descriptions was not clearly understood the amount of yarn in the skeins not the thickness. So I decided not to take the risk and besides the order would arrive at the end of January if we had ordered it at that time (November), because of the high season.
Salí al centro de la ciudad a buscar precios y colores 🌈 e increíblemente en ninguna de las tiendas había Chenille 😔. Me devolví muy triste y un poco molesta. Puedo comprar en linea por mercado libre, pero como no conozco de calidad de estos hilos tampoco quiero correr riesgos. En fin, no me preocupé más por buscar, pero seguí viendo tutoriales y referencias de proyectos tejidos con Chenille. Cada día se hace más popular entre los tejedores el uso de este hilo. Yo a todos le digo hilo eh, aunque sé que es un hilo artificial por así decirlo.
I went out downtown to look for prices and colors 🌈 and unbelievably none of the stores had Chenille 😔. I went back very sad and a bit annoyed. I can buy online by mercado libre, but as I don't know about quality of these yarns I don't want to take risks either. Anyway, I didn't bother to search anymore, but I kept watching tutorials and references of projects knitted with Chenille. Every day the use of this yarn is becoming more popular among knitters. I call it eh yarn to everyone, even though I know it is an artificial yarn so to speak.
Está claro que todos los trabajos realizados con este material se elevarían en costos. Los Chenille que podemos encontrar aquí son importados, hasta ahora no conozco una marca nacional que los fabrique. En Venezuela 🇻🇪 se consigue de todo, solo que no en todos los estados los venden. Por ejemplo, tenemos una tienda de telas con sucursales en casi todos los estados del país, sin embargo en la de la ciudad donde vivo solo podemos comprar telas y una que otra cosita relacionada con el ramo. En cambio en la región, en Estados como Sucre y Anzoátegui estas tiendas están abastecidas de mucha variedad; telas, mercería e insumos para bisutería y demás manualidades.
It is clear that all works made with this material would increase in cost. The Chenille we can find here are imported, so far I do not know of a national brand that manufactures them. In Venezuela 🇻🇪 you can find everything, but not in all the states they are sold. For example, we have a fabric store with branches in almost every state in the country, but in the one in the city where I live we can only buy fabrics and one or two other things related to the industry. On the other hand, in the region, in states such as Sucre and Anzoátegui, these stores are stocked with a wide variety of fabrics, haberdashery and supplies for jewelry and other handicrafts.
Aprovechando que mi hermana viajó hasta Cumaná, capital del estado Sucre, le pedí el favor de pasar por esa tienda antes mencionada. Ella pudo ir y se asombró por todo lo que vió. Enseguida se comunicó conmigo y me mostró parte del recorrido que hizo. Encontró el Chenille, pero no había de los colores que requiero para tejer mi primer proyecto. No obstante, no desaproveché su visita al sitio y le pedí unas madejas de Chenille para conocerlo y probarlo. Es una calidad china. Es delgado y muy suave. Cada madeja tiene 100 gramos. Dice que debe tejerse con aguja de 4mm. Le realicé la prueba del templón y tal cual, al halarlo el material gamuzado o de peluche sale del hilo y se puede ver la hebra muy delgadita de acrílico. Recomiendan quemar siempre la punta con la que vamos a empezar y cada vez que se haga un corte. Para que puedan imaginarlo es casi idéntico al chenille limpiapipas, solo que en vez de tener alambre tiene hilo por dentro.
Taking advantage of my sister's trip to Cumaná, capital of the state of Sucre, I asked her to stop by the aforementioned store. She was able to go and was amazed by everything she saw. She immediately contacted me and showed me part of the route she took. She found the Chenille, but there was none of the colors I needed to knit my first project. Nevertheless, I didn't miss her visit to the site and asked her for some skeins of Chenille to get to know it and try it out. It is a Chinese quality. It is thin and very soft. Each skein is 100 grams. She says it should be knitted with a 4mm needle. I did the temple test and just like that, when you pull it, the chamois or plush material comes out of the yarn and you can see the very thin acrylic strand. They recommend to always burn the tip we are going to start with and every time a cut is made. So that you can imagine it is almost identical to the pipe cleaner chenille, only that instead of having wire it has thread inside.
