Este año ha pasado muy rápido, los días, los meses y las horas se van volando. No me había percatado de que ya hace casi un año falleció la mamá de mi cuñada, mujer de mi hermano. Con mucha tristeza tocamos el tema ya que ella quiere hacerle su misa correspondiente y me pidió que le tejiera algunos modelos de recuerdos para entregar a los asistentes ese día. Le presenté algunos que ya había tejido anteriormente y ella se decidió por este que voy a mostrarles a continuación.
This year has gone by very fast, the days, months and hours are flying by. I had not realized that almost a year ago my sister-in-law's mother, my brother's wife, passed away. It was with great sadness that we talked about it, since she wants to have her own mass and she asked me to knit some souvenirs to give to the attendees that day. I presented her with some that I had already knitted and she decided on this one that I am going to show you below.
Buscando un titulo para mi publicación aprendí que este tipo de recuerdos tienen por nombre LUCTUOSOS, la verdad es que no conocía el término. Ese es uno de los beneficios del crochet, no solo es tejer 🧶 y entregar, también implica leer, investigar y conocer.
Looking for a title for my publication I learned that this kind of memories are called LUCTUOUS, the truth is that I didn't know the term. That's one of the benefits of crochet, it's not only knitting 🧶 and giving, it also involves reading, researching and knowing.
Las cruces son un elemento muy usado en este tipo de recuerdos. Hace algunos años elaboré un paso a paso en video de cómo hacerlas. Hay en la web y en otras plataformas infinidad de diseños de cruces, unas más elaboradas que otras y muchas muy sencillas y fáciles de hacer. A mi cuñada le gustó este modelo y también a mí me encantó porque se hace rápido a pesar de que hay que cortar la hebra y volver a unirla para tejer.
Crosses are a very common element used in this type of souvenirs. Some years ago I elaborated a step by step video on how to make them. There are on the web and other platforms countless designs of crosses, some more elaborate than others and many very simple and easy to make. My sister-in-law liked this model and I also loved it because it is done quickly even though you have to cut the strand and rejoin it to weave.
Lo mejor del diseño es que siempre empezando desde un mini granny podemos tejer cruces más grandes o más pequeñas. Todo depende del gusto y de la necesidad del recuerdo. Decidimos usar la cruz en un denario, por ello utilicé algunas perlas número 4 de color blanco. En esta muestra coloqué por descuido 12 perlas, pero para los recuerdos finales solo coloqué 10. Lo que hice fue tejer una cadenita e ir incorporando las perlas cada cinco puntos. Como pueden ver son dos piezas separadas. Una es la cruz y la otra el denario.
The best thing about the design is that always starting from a mini granny we can weave larger or smaller crosses. It all depends on the taste and the need of the souvenir. We decided to use the cross in a denary, so I used some number 4 pearls of white color. In this sample I carelessly placed 12 pearls, but for the final souvenirs I only placed 10. What I did was to weave a chain and incorporate the pearls every five stitches. As you can see they are two separate pieces. One is the cross and the other is the denarius.
Una vez que tejí ambas piezas las uní poniendo por el medio un aro para llaveros. Le pregunté a mi cuñada si le gustaría ver en la cruz una perlita en el medio, pero no me respondió, así que no le coloqué mas nada. A mi me gusta como se ve, me parece un recuerdo bonito y adecuado a la ocasión.
Once I had woven both pieces I joined them together by putting a key ring in the middle. I asked my sister-in-law if she would like to see a little pearl in the middle of the cross, but she didn't answer me, so I didn't put anything else. I like the way it looks, I think it is a nice and appropriate souvenir for the occasion.
Este denario se entregará acompañado de una tarjeta con el mensaje apropiado, dentro de una bolsita de organza de color negro o blanca. Mi cuñada decidirá el color. Para tejerla usé el hilo acrílico colombiano de 1mm de grosor, la aguja de 1,60 mm, unas tijeras, aguja lanera y un poquito de pega blanca. Con la pega afilé la punta del hilo para pasarlo por el orificio de las perlas.
This denarius will be delivered accompanied by a card with the appropriate message, inside a little black or white organza bag. My sister-in-law will decide the color. To weave it I used 1mm thick Colombian acrylic yarn, a 1.60 mm needle, scissors, a wool needle and a little white glue. With the glue I sharpened the tip of the thread to pass it through the hole of the beads.
El resultado final del tejido me gustó mucho. Estoy segura que ya colocado en la tarjeta dentro de la bolsa se verá muchísimo mejor y mi cuñada habrá dejado un lindo recuerdo de la misa de su mamá para sus amigos y familiares. I really liked the final result of the weaving.
