Los electrodomésticos que a diario conectamos en nuestro hogares cuentan con un cable de alimentación el cual tiene 2 o 3 patas, es decir que si es de 2 patas quiere decir que lleva conectado, línea y neutro y si tiene la 3 pata seria: línea, neutro y puesta tierra. Es importante saber que por lo general el cable de tierra es de color verde, la línea de negro y el neutro de blanco, esto es por normativa internacional al igual que la ranura mas pequeña del tomacorriente es donde va conectada la corriente y la mas grande donde va el neutro.
