Hey lovelies β€οΈ
It's your favorite girl π
Welcome to my blog π€
I mentioned that I made most of my wedding dresses, the lovely gown that I used for my pre-wedding shoot was also made by me. I was able to finish the dress in less than two days. The gown is a very comfortable one that is suitable for all occasions be it formal or casual. I got the style inspiration from social media and I went to the market to purchase the material. I like the material because it suits my skin color quite well.
So, it's a half cut princess dart gown which has an opening, a little 2 inches below the neck line. Start by folding the fabrics into two, take out the measurement and then I took out my burst line, underburst, and my half length. My burst is 41 inches my underburst is 34 inches, so I took that shape, all measurements are divided by 4 plus 2 inches seam allowance.
I forgot to mention that I took my armpit measurement as well - in getting that I took from the shoulder down 8 inch and then I made a curve you can use an angle curve to get that correctly then I ironed my air stay on the fabric basically after cutting the princess dart that is in another of my post i posted previously so you find out on my previous post on how to cut a princess dart.
Then to cut the flare I fold my fabric into two, then I fold it again, making four folds then I get my waist measurement which is a little bit above my navel, that measurement I used 34 inches but I can decide to cut 36 inches, so I could just hold some side like a kiss print afterwards. I cut out a round circle out and I take all parts of it to the machine to join after ironing my air stay on upper part of the fabric.
Remember each fabrics you place on your lining and cut out same shapes on your lining, then you iron air stay on both the lining and the fabrics. Then I took to the machine to sew.
So, for my sleeve if you check the picture you noticed that it has a circle. I fold my fabrics in to four and take my round sleeve measurements which is 14 and cut out this is better illustrated in video for a better result. Then I traced out the circle and cut then I cut out another 2 inches straight from the fabric to form the print on the sleeve.
