Now that I look back at it this design and the Christmas shoot dress was probably my soft launch into my obsession with designing using mesh stitches.
This project was one of the projects you create in-between orders — the one you create when you want to be laid back — at that point in time I needed to allow my brain to cool off to avoid burn out and that's how this baby came about.
I had so much work to do and at the time I just needed something I could freestyle on with no absolute direction just going with the flow to wherever it leads me and just allowing my a little freedom…although I did have a teeny bit of direction.
The initial idea was creating a shrug and from that somehow, somewhere in the universe I found myself creating this instead and to be honest I just allowed my brain to do it's thing.
I worked on this for 2 or 3 days not all day but yeah, and after the mesh part I did think that's where I'll end and I found my scrap fur yarn from an old project and best believe I threw it on this one.
Totally unrelated I did a big chop more like I chopped all my hair off in October 2025 so at the point where I had this hair on I barely had any hair on my head as you can seeee 🤣🤣 now the dunny part is I created a scru chief as part of the set for this outfit
I didn't realize when I was making it though but when I was done I realized it and couldn't help laughing at myself just settling for using it on my wigs.
I was hell bent on exhausting the yarn is the ball so best believe I went on to create earring sets for the outfit too. I literally went on a creative spree and yes I loved how it all turned out with these outfits.
The first exhibit was church on a very hot Sunday morning and I don't know if this happens to just me but when I make designs that are not necessarily “my style” I get bored after wearing them just once. That's what happened to this fit so imagine my delight when my cousin came over and said she liked it. I shipped it off immediately, I'd prefer the cloth be used by another than stay neglected in my closet.
She got to style it too and from her expression I'd say she loved having it in her closet and honestly that's and earn bigger win for me.
I eventually found my direction with creating pieces and I can't wait to share these designs.
Thank you for reading this blog, see you next time ee ❤️❤️
