#Needlework
Hello needleworkers, I made this shrug pattern for the first time and I’m so happy to share it here with all of you.
I got an order from a client two Saturdays ago. She wanted to get a crochet mesh shrug for her daughter who is still in high school.
I felt really happy because this was a client I was targeting for months. I was hoping she’ll get something from my brand soon and it happened.
The shrug pattern she wanted was something I have not made before but when she asked if I could make it I boldly said yes and ran to YouTube for help after she completed her order.
It was easy to find the pattern she wanted and honestly was also a bit easy to learn, everything was new since I started different and most parts were increases in the stitches.
I eventually got a hang of it and used the picture she sent me so I’ll make the exact same thing she wanted.
One thing I was always very careful about was getting the outfit stained. So I washed my hand every time it felt sticky or dusty or any slight change in how it looked I’ll wash it. (Hahahaha this part was annoying)

Making the shrug took 2 days but not 48 hours. I honestly didn’t time myself even when I said I would.
I finished the first part and went on to making the sleeves.
Had to stare at the picture she sent every time because of the mesh pattern so I don’t mix it up.
Once I finished the side with more normal stitches in between I just made one row of mesh dc and i row of dc stitches till I got my desired length which was funny because I was singing “one row dc one row mesh” till I finished (hahahaha)
After making the first sleeve all I had to do was duplicate what I made earlier. Was all fun and games till my eyes started hurting and I realized I had been staring at white yarn for hours.
Had to take a break so I could shut my eyes a bit when I returned. I just used the other sleeve as reference to see if what I was doing was the correct look for the shrug and I finished in a few hours.
I won’t lie, I did the happy dance after I made it, when I showed my mom, when I showed my sister (they reposted it for me too) and lastly when I put it on the mannequin I was dancing a whole lot.
I mean I just learnt the pattern days ago so delivering the exact same was definitely a thing of joy.
I took a picture of the finished piece and sent it to my client to notify her that it was ready for pick up or delivery.
Here I will put a list of the tools I used and if anyone wants a written pattern I’ll be happy to make my next post and include how to make the outfits.
“4.0 mm hook (for every part of the fit)
“Stitch markers to know where the increases were.
“Scissors.
“6 balls of a 40g yarn.
“Darning needle.
“Measurements tape.
Ps: all pictures here belong to me and we’re taken with my mobile phone
