#Needlework
Hello needleworkers, I hope you’re having a lovely day. I’m happy to share this beautiful tube top with everyone.
I usually start with “I got an order from…” but that is definitely not the case today. I had a free day some time ago and I had been starting at the inspo for this for a lonnng time and decided well since I have I free day today I might as well recreate it.
The one I saw had a black background and the squares were in no uniform mixture. I switched it up a lil since I honestly don’t have a thing for very colorful outfits.
I started with making different bases for the squares and at this point I was not sure of the color combinations I would be using. Let’s just say I was going with the flow.
Made first mix with white blue and pink(for someone that is not really into bright colors I was surprised at how pretty that came out). I made 8 squares of the blue, pink and white mix.
Went on to the second mix white, yellow and orange. I honestly did not think putting this with the other mixture would look good at all since the first was looking way cooler than this but I just had to continue. Made 8 squares of this too.
Started putting the squares together but first I had to decide how I would be placing them so it would not ruin the look since I still had my doubts about the second mix blending with the first. I finally decided to just distribute it evenly across the panel at least it’ll create some pattern that way.
I forgot to add me washing my hand every time I touched something else just to avoid stains on the top.
Anyways joining it was not so easy (I join my work with single crochet stitches I feel it lasts longer than sewing it that way) I was joining and cutting the yarn (that is after I thought of the best possible way to join all at once and I realized it would not be possible). So I was joining the different squares in fours and twos so I can accurately get the look I wanted.
When I finished joining the hard part was seeing in all those end that had been poking out literally everywhere on the top (mind you I already hid some ends when I was making single crochet stitches to join the squares)
To hide the ends I used a tapestry needle to sew the ends back into the squares then make a knot at the end. Doing this over and over again took a long time.
If I want to be dramatic I’ll say it took longer hours than when I was making the top itself (hhhahahahhahaha). I finished eventually tho and I made chains for the crisscross with tripled yarns, I wanted it to be thick so I had to make use of multiple strands.
Here is a list of supplies I used:
*Darning needle
*4.5mm hook
*Scissors
*5 balls of 40g yarns
*Measurement Tape
Ps:all pictures used belong to me and were taken by me.
