Happy new month everyone, we are finally in Decemberrrrrrr, I for one honestly can't wait to do a 2025 dump here, it's been such a creative and artsy year but for now here's a new project I got off a while ago. I'm also looking to add a free slot to my online class coming in March and I'll be happy to add anyone that's interested in getting me to crochet and doesn't know where to start. Now let's dive into it
A few months ago a couple of crochet designs made by hookedbylade broke the internet and while a lot were only happy for her, some of us gained new clients from the beautiful designs she put out and this design is the VJ bou Bou named after Veeky James.
I had a client reach out saying she wanted the backless gown but not as free as the original designs trust me when I say I got to work on the order, it was exciting because I got to try out something new and then I had new yarn texture to experiment on so my day and month was made in that moment.
We talked colors, showed her the shades she can get her hands on and we got to work. This period was for learning honestly, I've never made a backless dress before so I took my time on this one. Frogged it a couple of times to get the exact Stitch used in the original design so I don't do “what I ordered vs. What I got”, when I finally got it down I went as the wind and crocheted away
Crocheting is very therapeutic and for the hours I spent on this dress I was on the moon, didn't want to get up cause I wanted to savor it, used it as the project that'll start and end my day, the fluffyness of this yarn has to be studied honestly, it felt so comfortable and looked so pretty I had to see it through in a go.
Finally goto the backless side and calculating the proportion made me think of how I'd cope with crochet if I hated math in school because what were those numbers 😅 but at the end this pretty piece came through and I'm just grateful I saw it though and didn't chicken out because trust me at some point I was stick and I didn't see a way forward even in a hundred lifetimes .
The icing on the cake is how much my client loved it and it came just in time with the new packaging. I wrapped it up so gently and I felt so good inside. Even made me consider making one for myself for a beach day out but that's still a thought in progress.
Thank you for reading my blog I'd love to hear your input🥰
