Hello hivians
I'm open to corrections and advice from my fellow needleworkers
So, for the last few days (my free time from the tight schedule) I've been trying to make pant trouser for myself.
I thought I did everything I'm supposed to do buh in reality my calculations were wrong. I can't say I'm happy having a failed attempt buh like a saying goes "practice makes perfection", it means I'm a step closer to knowing what I don't because I obviously won't make the same mistake I made in this pant trouser ever again, I've learnt my lesson through practice 🥺☹️
My fellow needleworkers let's go through the processes together and learn from my mistakes (where I got it wrong)
MATERIALS NEEDED
1½ trousers of fabric
Tape measure
Scissors
Tailor chalk
ACCURATE measurements
I supposedly used the ACURATE measurements to get my pant patterns (back and front) and the band also
After sewing the sides, the legs and also the crotch
I weaved and iron the inside
Prepare the band for fixing (I added paper stay to the band to give it more strength)
Fixed the band and zipper(made sure my waist measurement is accurate before adding the band and zipper)
Only for me to want to fit the pant did I come to realize my mistake. What is the mistake???
To say the pant bulged anywhere bulge-able (if that's even a word) will be an understatement. The crotch, the thigh, the hip was just all incorrectly used and I was so concern about the waist measurement alone because I was confident the rest are accurate (remember I emphasis the word ACCURATE measurements earlier).
This particular pant
I've made it and pieces it down back to pattern for almost 3 times trying to know where I got it wrong, I darted both the front and back to reduce the bulge still it was the same thing (because the mistake was not Minor)
if not until I asked did she tell me where I did mistake
"Once beaten twice shy"
Can't wait to remake a perfect pant, I'll surely share testimony here😜😃
