Hello, dear creative hivers, wishing everyone an amazing day today.
I feel so hapy to finally have a bit of free time to share with you what i've been up to on my sewing table lately, that has also unfortunately been making me scarce on Hive, as i can't seem to have enough time anymore for all the things I love to do, like hiving, as I often get exhausted at the end of the day's work, and only have time just for rest.
Thankfully, today isn't all that tight and I will be sharing with you how I made this beautiful two piece asymetric blouse and skirt for my friend whose birthday is approaching soon.
She had sent me a picture inspiration of the same style last year, reminding me she is the first to have a birthday celebration this year, and would love it if I made her the same style. I smiled thinking of how everyone has gotten used to having a new dress for their birthday, also felt more joy because I could make it hapen with my sewing skill.
So without further ado, let's get right into the sewing process.
Making this outfit is very easy, luckily for me, I had some fabrics I had bought on impulse during the holiday season, as they were very affordable, and I knew they were going to become useful with time, even if I didn't know what to make use of them for then.
For the blouse, I drafted a basic bodice pattern for both the front and back, then shapedand trimmed out thr assymetric neckline, making it a one full shoulder and the other off shoulder sleeve.
next. I turned them with a lining neatly in and joined the sides using the seam allowance left
For the sleeves,I used a soft, flowery crepe fabric, an Cut out a full puffy sleeve pattern, and the other for the off shoulder.
And also sewed a zipper to the back
The skirt was also quite easy to make, combining the plain lace fabric and the flowery crepe fabric, I shape out the waist, hip an d the center basque length
Then gathered the other fabric around the hem to complete the length of the skirt,
- I also sewed in a zipper to the back. And that completes the making process.
I hope you found this sewing tutorial helpful.
