Hello, dear friends on Hive, hope you are all having a lovely day wherever you are, it's a bright sunny day here, one that comes with intense heat, that i wish we were in the cold season because the heat wave has made living almost unbearable with us profusely sweating, especially for those who work outdoors with no air conditioning or fan.
Still, we are thankful for life and will still keep surviving. For my needlework post today, i will be sharing with you my latest completed sewing project, a floral patterened ankara dress combined with lace fabric.
The heat wave has also made us become selective in our clothing style, so when my friend reached out to me about wanting a dress for an event she plans to attend this weekend and emphasized a breathable and stylish dress, I knew just the right dress for her.
Of course, it has to be sleeveless or short sleeve, for her dress, I made a short flared sleeves, making sure her legs and chest area are open to allow in fresh air, so she can be comfortable throughout her stay at the event.
To make the dress, I started by cutting the upper side of the dress, using a bustier pattern, i also replicated the patterns on the lining fabric
- Then I joined and turned the patterns together using the lining fabric
- For the base of the dress I used a straight skirt pattern for the lace fabric and layered it using the ankara fabric
- Continuing, I joined the upper part of the dress to the lower part
- And also sewed in a zipper to the back side of the dress
- Finally, I cut out the circular sleeve patterns which I sewed around both armhole areas, and that completes the making of this beautifully combined, Ankara and lace dress.
She loves her new dress and can't wait to adorn it comfortable to the event.
