Amigurumi #127: Pato del lejano oeste - proceso creativo / Wild West Duck - creative process

Hace unos meses llegó a mis manos madejas de fibras de bambú de cinco colores, cuyo grosor es para tejerlo con crochet de 2.5mm ó 3mm de diámetro del ganchillo. En ese entonces solo sabía que algún día tejería un amigurumi tamaño mediano. Hasta hace poco decidí tejer algo para un familiar y al tratarse de un niño, un animal sería ideal para su compañero de aventuras.

A few months ago I got my hands on skeins of bamboo fibres in five colours, whose thickness is suitable for crocheting with a crochet hook diameter of 2.5mm or 3mm. At that time I only knew that one day I would crochet a medium sized amigurumi. Until recently I decided to knit something for a family member and since it was a boy, an animal would be his ideal adventure companion.

Al inicio quise que llevase colores extravagantes, inclusive le agregué una gorrita de fiesta, jaja. Luego se puso más serio el asunto y lo cambié por un sombrero aventurero. En eso, supe que sería un pato de la época de los vaqueros mexicanos y eso...¡Que ocurrencia la mía!.

At first I wanted him to wear extravagant colours, I even added a party hat, haha. Then it got more serious and I changed it to an adventurous hat. At that point, I knew it would be a Mexican cowboy duck and that... What an idea!.

Al analizar la anatomía de los patos, me di cuenta que tienen la cabeza ancha, luego sigue recto y resaltan sus cachetes. Traté de resaltar eso, aunque más se parecía a Piolín, jaja.

When analysing the anatomy of the ducks, I noticed that they have a wide head, then it goes straight and their cheeks stand out. I tried to highlight that, although he looked more like Tweety Bird, jaja.

En todo momento quise que este amigurumi sea sencillo de tejer. También que se note de lejos que fuese un pato. Justo aquí me encontré con una dificultad "las patas del pato". Al inicio fue complicado recordar qué puntos de los aprendidos utilizaría para darle forma y textura a las patas (no es que sepa muchos puntos, aunque sí los practico de vez en cuando)...Entre puntos altos, medio altos, bajos y deslizados salieron las patas (yehhh).

At all times I wanted this amigurumi to be easy to knit. I also wanted it to be noticeable from a distance that it was a duck. Right here I found a difficulty "the legs of the duck". At the beginning it was difficult to remember which stitches I would use to give shape and texture to the legs (not that I know a lot of stitches, although I do practice them from time to time)... Between high, medium-high, low and slipped stitches the legs came out (yehhhh).

Entre los detalles tenemos: el bordado del rostro, el sombrero y la pañueleta. Para este último utilicé la técnica C2C, esta consiste en tejer cuadrito por cuadrito. Generalmente lo utilizan para colchas o telas y se caracteriza por llevar figuras de personajes, animales, animes, etc...diría que es todo un mundo el C2C.

Among the details we have: the embroidery of the face, the hat and the scarf. For the latter I used the C2C technique, which consists of knitting square by square. It is generally used for quilts or fabrics and is characterised by figures of characters, animals, anime, etc... I would say that C2C is a whole world.

Dato curioso: Cuando pruebo materiales nuevos (en este caso Bambú) mi control de calidad son los niños, eso es para tantear la vida útil del producto / When I test new materials (in this case Bamboo) my quality control is children, that is to test the lifetime of the product.
