Amigurumi #130: Se viene la Pascua / Easter is coming

Hay celebraciones que se dan a nivel mundial y una de ellas son "las pascuas". Por lo general en mi país no tenemos esa costumbre tan marcada de esta celebración (aunque quizá sí para la iglesia católica). Cuando digo "esa costumbre" me refiero específicamente a los conejos junto a los huevos de Pascua (jaja).

There are celebrations that take place all over the world and one of them is "Easter". Generally in my country we don't have such a marked custom of this celebration (although perhaps for the Catholic church we do). When I say "that custom" I am referring specifically to the rabbits next to the Easter eggs (jaja).

My approach to this celebration

Una de mis películas favoritas son las de ciencia ficción. Recuerdo haber visto en una película estadounidense, era una escena donde al terminar la misa los niños buscaban huevos de Pascua. Era como si lo coleccionasen o algo así. Estos huevos tenían diseños de figuras geométricas muy coloridas. En ese entonces no entendí el significado.

One of my favourite films are science fiction films. I remember seeing in an American movie, it was a scene where at the end of mass the children were looking for Easter eggs. It was like they were collecting them or something. These eggs had designs of very colourful geometric figures. I didn't understand the meaning at the time.

Desde que tengo uso de razón no pertenezco a ninguna religión, por cierto ya perdí la cuenta las veces donde me preguntaron si pertenecía a alguna (sobre todo cuando se trataba de entablar amistades nuevas)... El punto es que si bien esta tradición surge en Euroasia y fue adaptada en todo el mundo, me agrada el concepto de esta celebración. La idea central es "desear el bien sin mirar a quien", ya sea mediante coloridos huevitos en representación de prosperidad y larga vida.

For as long as I can remember I don't belong to any religion, and I've lost count of the number of times I've been asked if I belonged to one (especially when it came to making new friends)... The point is that although this tradition originated in Eurasia and was adapted all over the world, I like the concept of this celebration. The central idea is to "wish well without looking at whom", either by means of colourful little eggs representing prosperity and long life.

Me agradan las tradiciones (sin importar las fechas específicas) donde las personas por unos días "son conscientes" que están rodeadas de otras personas quienes no son sus enemigos ni les harán daño, simplemente muestran algo significativo y no tan materialista...aunque si mostraran abrazos, un saludo, cartas, dibujos personalizados o una comida que te sane sería mucho mejor, jaja.

I like traditions (no matter the specific dates) where people for a few days "are aware" that they are surrounded by other people who are not their enemies or will not harm them, they just show something meaningful and not so materialistic...although if they showed hugs, a greeting, letters, personalised drawings or a healing meal it would be much better, jaja.

¿Recuerdan el curso que mencioné hace unas semanas?, allí nos enseñaron a tejer este set de Pascuas. Lo tejí de dos temáticas: primaverales y otoñales.

Remember the course I mentioned a few weeks ago, they taught us how to knit this Easter set. I wove it in two themes: spring and autumn.
