Amigurumi #197: Mapache, tejiendo para aprehender _diseño de Chikiporkworld || Raccoon, weaving to continue learning, by Chikiporkworld

Hay diseños que me hacen volver a tejer para seguir aprehendiendo. Creo que cuando tejes un patrón, conectas con el diseñador (también puedes escribirle por correo si algo no se entiende) y vez el cómo llegó al resultado de ese muñeco, es decir el diseño en sí.

Como digo, aquí muchas veces no importa tanto el idioma. Por ejemplo, el diseñador de este mapache habla portugués (en esta ocasión es coincidencia que también sepa portugués, jaja) y varias personas en el mundo ya tejieron a Kevin el mapache.

There are designs that make me want to weave again to continue learning. I think that when you weave a pattern, you connect with the designer (you can also write to them by mail if something is unclear) and see how they arrived at the result of that doll, that is, the design itself.

As I said, here the language often doesn't matter so much. For example, the designer of this raccoon speaks Portuguese (in this case, it's a coincidence that I also know Portuguese, jaja), and many people around the world have already crocheted Kevin the Raccoon.

Piezas planas || Plain weave

Otro punto que llama mi atención cuando tejo otros patrones, es la forma de explicar. Aquí el diseñador explica muy bien esta parte, indica todos los detalles como para no perderte. Me parece que eso es por la experiencia que tiene tejiendo piezas planas.

Another point that catches my attention when I crochet other patterns is the way of explaining. Here, the designer explains this part very well, indicating all the details so you don't get lost. I think that's because of your experience crocheting flat pieces.

Ensamblado y Tamaño de los ojos || Assembly and size of the eyes

Kevin el mapache tiene 2 versiones, plomo o marrón. Elegí tejerlo con un plomo medio salvaje (o algo así, jaja). La desventaja de este hilo es que lo siento mas delgado comparándolos con los otros hilos que tengo.

Por eso, para no ilusionarme comencé a ensamblar las piezas que iba tejiendo. También lo hice para ver qué tamaño de ojos tendría Kevin. La diferencia del tamaño de ojos es muy común, debido a que el diseñador (por lo general de otro país) utiliza otro tipo de hilos (en mi caso es mas grueso) y ojos más grandes... Hay que estar preparado para todo, jaja. Ví a Kevin aceptable, por lo que continué tejiendo.

Kevin the raccoon comes in two versions, gray or brown. I chose to crochet it with a slightly wild yarn (or something like that, jaja). The disadvantage of this yarn is that I find it thinner compared to the other yarns I have.

So, to avoid getting my hopes up, I started assembling the pieces I was crocheting. I also did it to see what size eyes Kevin would have. The difference in eye size is very common, because the designer (usually from another country) uses a different type of yarn (in my case, it is thicker) and bigger eyes... You have to be prepared for anything, jaja. I saw Kevin was okay, so I kept crocheting.

Hasta aquí todo claro. La diferencia del grosor de hilo utilizado no fue tan notorio como creí. No se si te pasa, que cuando estás en esta parte sientes que avanzaste bastante y tomas un descanso para continuar con el ensamblado. Durante mi descanso veo el tiempo que tomé en tejer el muñeco (horas de teejido), eso me sirve para sacar los costos por si en algún momento le pongo un precio.

So everything is clear so far. Differences in the thickness of the yarn used were not as noticeable as I thought they would be. I don't know if this happens to you, but when you're at this stage, you feel like you've made a lot of progress and take a break before continuing with the assembly. I use my break time to track how long it takes me to crochet the doll, which helps me calculate the costs in case I ever decide to price it.
