¡Hola, espero te encuentres de maravilla!
Hi, I hope you are feeling great!
How was your long holiday? I spent it designing and I took the opportunity to crochet Gerald's Funkito, a supporting character from the 90's TV series "Hey Arnold".
At the beginning of Pandemic (maybe a little before), I met Lhyla from Lhylaranha, who with her square-headed amigurumi style caught my attention. Even more, because years before Funko Pops were in fashion and I wanted some too.
I remember crocheting the Harry Styles pattern, so the cube head already looked familiar. The eyes and the embroidery on the face I do adapt to my style, so they look different from the original pattern.
Back then the Funkito was 16cm, now Gerald is 4.7in and 5.7in with hair. Lhyla is incorporating techniques into her designs, which are slightly different from her old patterns.
On the other hand, if you saw this cartoon (Hey Arnold!) Gerald is Arnold's best friend and his afro culture was always present, it was like he spoke with confidence and had more street than Arnold. That was the funny thing about Gerald, besides his vocabulary, jaja.
You know, if you have requests for Funkitos style amigurumi, visit my friend Lhyla's account. Right, I hope to travel to Cajamarca and meet her one day.
¡Y eso es todo!
¡Hasta la próxima!
See you next time!.
