Saludos querida comunidad, finalmente el momento ha llegado en que mi hijo me ayuda con los encargos 😊, pues hace unos días atrás mi querida amiga Hive account@tsunsica me encargó una maceta de cactus a crochet, ella no me dio una fecha límite para la entrega, por lo cual no me sentía presionada, sin embargo, tenía unos encargos antes que se llevaron bastante tiempo, por lo cual mi hijo al saber para quien era dicho proyecto me dijo que el deseaba hacerlo, para ayudarme con los tiempo de entrega y por supuesto él deseaba trabajar a crochet porque hace muchísimo tiempo que no lo hacía, yo por supuesto que no me negué a su petición, me alegra mucho cuando él toma la iniciativa de hacer algo por su propia cuenta, por lo cual me dispuse a buscarle los materiales para la elaboración del proyecto.

Greetings dear community, the moment has finally arrived when my son is helping me with orders 😊. A few days ago, my dear friend Hive account@tsunsica commissioned me to crochet a cactus pot. She didn't give me a deadline, so I wasn't under pressure. However, I had some orders beforehand that took quite a bit of time, so when my son found out who the project was for, he said he wanted to do it to help me with the deadlines. Of course, he wanted to crochet because it had been a very long time since he'd done it. I certainly didn't refuse his request; I'm always happy when he takes the initiative to do something on his own. So, I set about finding the materials for him to make the project.

Mi hijo está acostumbrado a trabajar mayormente con ganchillo gruesos por eso busqué una lana acrílica que le funcionara para tal fin, trabajó con ganchillo de 3.5mm, comenzó primero con el cactus grande haciendo 20 cadenas de inicio, hizo 25 hileras de puntos bajos tomando solo la hebra de atrás y luego unió el inicio y el final con puntos deslizados, cerro un extremo de forma circular y rellenó, luego para los brazos del cactus trabajo solo con 7 cadenas de base y 10 hileras de puntos bajos.

My son is used to working mostly with thick crochet hooks, so I looked for an acrylic yarn that would work for him. He worked with a 3.5mm hook, starting first with the large cactus by making 20 starting chains, then made 25 rows of single crochet stitches taking only the back loop and then joined the beginning and end with slip stitches, closed one end in a circular shape and stuffed it. Then for the cactus's arms he worked only with 7 base chains and 10 rows of single crochet stitches.

Para el cactus redondo hizo 6 círculos, con 16 puntos altos en un anillo y luego una hilera de 8 aumentos de puntos altos, el borde los hizo intercalando un punto deslizado y una cadena, al coser los 6 circulas se crea el melocatus.

For the round cactus, she made 6 circles, with 16 double crochet stitches in a ring and then a row of 8 double crochet increases. The border was made by alternating a slip stitch and a chain. By sewing the 6 circles together, the peach cactus is created.

La idea inicial era solo hacer esos dos cactus con sus flores amarillas, pero él quiso hacer también un tulipán con sus hojas y una abeja, el tulipán lo hizo con 6 puntos bajos en un anillo, 6 aumentos por dos hileras y luego 7 hileras sin aumentos, para las hojas trabajo sobre una base de 18 cadenas, hizo un secuencia de puntos desde el punto bajo al punto alto y luego de regreso, una hilera de puntos bajos para finalizar haciendo aumentos solo en la punta de la hoja, en la última hilera introdujo un alambre, esta fue su parte favorita porque vio como ese detalle le daba firmeza a la hoja y podía moldear su forma.

The initial idea was just to make those two cacti with their yellow flowers, but he also wanted to make a tulip with its leaves and a bee. The tulip was made with 6 single crochet stitches in a ring, 6 increases for two rows and then 7 rows without increases. For the leaves, he worked on a base of 18 chains, made a sequence of stitches from single crochet to double crochet and then back again, a row of single crochet stitches to finish by making increases only at the tip of the leaf. In the last row, he inserted a wire; this was his favorite part because he saw how that detail gave firmness to the leaf and allowed him to mold its shape.

Luego para finalizar hizo la maceta, primero la parte de abajo con lana marrón claro y la parte de arriba con marrón oscuro, debo decir que mi hijo siguió en todo momento mis instrucciones, ha mejorado mucho su paciencia cuando le toca destejer una pequeña parte y además ha demostrado mucho entusiasmo para hacer proyectos futuros, yo solo lo ayudé en coser las piezas y también rellenar, pero todas la partes fueron hechas por el y estoy muy orgullosa de todo su trabajo, lo mejor es que a Hive account@tsunsica le encantó el resultado 😊

Then, to finish, he made the flowerpot, first the bottom part with light brown yarn and the top part with dark brown. I must say that my son followed my instructions perfectly. He has greatly improved his patience when it comes to unraveling small sections, and he has also shown a lot of enthusiasm for future projects. I only helped him sew the pieces together and stuff it, but he made all the parts himself, and I am very proud of all his work. The best part is that Hive account@tsunsica loved the result! 😊
