My handmade gift is dedicated to Diana @ chacald.dcymt, who is a Venezuelan girl residing in Cuba whom I had the happiness of meeting thanks to Hive, curiously we never saw each other when she lived in the country and now we are friends at a distance, She is a native of the state of Táchira, one of the Andean states of my country, where a dear friendalso comes from who put me in contact with Diana for the first time. For me, the people of the Venezuelan Andes are very friendly and I am very happy that Hive allows me to be in constant contact with my Andean friends even if they are far from me, that is why I made an amigurumi in the shape of a girl with traditional Venezuelan Andean clothes .
Proceso/ Process
The Venezuelan Andes have the best climates in the country, that is, they are states with a cold climate but not so much because we are a tropical country, that is why one of the traditional elements of clothing is cotton and linen fabrics, woolen ruanas and a bud hat. I hope that with the tricolor ruana the national flag and the hat stand out that it is a girl from the Andes.
For its elaboration I used 1mm acrylic thread, # 4 crochet (1.25mm) and antiallergic fiber filling. I started knitting the shoes with black thread, the idea is that it would look like an espadrille but the size is very small with only 8 simple stitches. When I made the two legs with skin color, I joined them to make the torso with white thread.
I made the arms of 6 simple stitches in a ring, white for the sleeve, then I joined the sides of the torso to make the shoulders, I changed to nude thread for the neck. From the waist I raised the necessary stitches to make the skirt, I made it blue because according to a little bird told me Diana likes blue.
A ruana is a square woven in wool with a hole in the center for the head, this protects the Andean people from the coldest areas, I used the colors of the flag but since it is mostly yellow it also resembles the flags of Colombia and Ecuador, something that I think is great because we share the Andes with these countries. After the ruana I made the head, stuffed it and sewed the body.
I made the hair black and the process at first was similar to the head, that is, similar to a sphere, but then I added the bangs and the braids topped with two blue bows as the skirt.
For the hat I used wheat-colored thread, this was the one that was closest to the real color of the bud hat, this is braided straw, this type of hat, in addition to being typical of Venezuela, is also for Colombians because the state of Táchira where Diana is from @ chacald.dcymt is a state bordering Colombia. For the face I embroidered the eyes with sewing thread
