[ENG/ESP] Entrada al concurso: Portavasos de tela vieja

Today I am here to submit my participation for the new contest organised by the NeedleworkMonday community. It is to needlework something for your kitchen. I am going to make a cup coaster but with a twist, yes I am going to make it with old fabric pieces by recycling them. So, without further delay let’s get started.

Hoy estoy aquí para enviar mi participación para el nuevo concurso organizado por la comunidad NeedleworkMonday. Es para bordar algo para tu cocina. Voy a hacer un posavasos pero con un giro, sí lo voy a hacer con trozos de tela viejos reciclándolos. Entonces, sin más demora, comencemos.

Materials required:

Old cloth
Thread
Needle
Scissor
Lace
Any round thing
Pen

Materiales necesarios:

Tela vieja
Hilo
Aguja
Tijera
Encaje
Cualquier cosa redonda
Bolígrafo

Directions:

Step #1

Take the pieces of fabric you want to use, I am using four different colours of fabrics.
Cut the three fabrics of the same size and one a bit bigger.
The size of the cloth depends on how big you want your cup holder.

Paso 1

Toma los trozos de tela que quieras usar, yo estoy usando cuatro colores diferentes de telas.
Corta las tres telas del mismo tamaño y una un poco más grande.
El tamaño de la tela depende del tamaño que quieras para tu portavasos.

Step #2

Stitch the three same size pieces together.
Sew the three vertically with each other and the fourth piece horizontally with the three of them.

Paso 2

Cose las tres piezas del mismo tamaño.
Coser los tres verticalmente entre sí y la cuarta pieza horizontalmente con los tres.

Step #3

Take any circle think for tracing your shape, you can use any shape and make it according to you.
Cut the tracing and leave 1/2 inch outside so it will help us while we stitch it.
Trace the cutout on another cloth for the back of our coaster.

Paso 3

Piensa en cualquier círculo para trazar tu forma, puedes usar cualquier forma y hacerla según tus necesidades.
Corta el calco y deja 1/2 pulgada afuera para que nos ayude mientras lo cosimos.
Traza el recorte en otra tela para la parte posterior de nuestro posavasos.

Step #4

Stitch on the line and leave about an inch open so that we can flip it around through it.
Once done stitching, flip the side and now with the help of needle and thread and sew the open hole that we left close it completely.

Paso 4

Cose la línea y deja aproximadamente una pulgada abierta para que podamos darle la vuelta.
Una vez hecho el cosido, volteamos el lateral y ahora con ayuda de aguja e hilo cosemos el agujero abierto que dejamos ciérralo por completo.

Step #5

Now, for some detailing I will add eyes and mouth to make it look like a cat or maybe something else haha.
Take the lace any of your choice first. I will stitch it on the separation of the pieces and then around the circle to make it look more presentable.
And tada! it's done.

Paso 5

Ahora, para algunos detalles agregaré ojos y boca para que parezca un gato o tal vez algo más jaja.
Toma el encaje de tu elección primero, lo coseré en la separación de las piezas y luego alrededor del círculo para que se vea más presentable.
¡Y tada! Está hecho.
