Hola mi gente linda de hive, cómo siempre para mí es un placer estar por acá compartiendo con ustedes algo que me hace muy feliz porque tenía muchísimo tiempo que no lo hacía y es coser, desde mis 12 años aproximadamente comencé a aprender con mucho miedo honestamente de cómo se usaban las maquinas de coser, pasaron los años y aunque no lo hacía de forma perfecta era algo que disfrutaba y nada me gustaba más que hacer mi propia ropa para fiestas, ya fueran desde cero o como lo que hice hoy que fue darle una nueva vida a una prenda que ya no usaba porque no me gustaba mucho como me quedaba.
El día de ayer decidí desempolvar mi pequeña máquina de coser que deje de usar porque ya no estaba cociendo todo tipo de tela y se trababa muchísimo, sin embargo ayer que la volví a sacar, compré agujas nuevas, comencé a probarla en varias telas, hasta que di con la aguja que de hecho fue la que estuve utilizando que es la número 14. Entonces el día de hoy ansiaba llegar a mí trabajo para poner manos a la obra y convertir ese pantalón en una bella falda, espero les guste ❤️ ¡Vamos con los materiales y el paso a paso!
Hello my lovely people of Hive, as always, it's a pleasure for me to be here sharing with you something that makes me very happy because it's been a long time since I last did it, and that's sewing. Since I was about 12 years old, I began learning, honestly, with great fear, how to use sewing machines. Years went by, and although I wasn't perfect at it, it was something I enjoyed, and I loved nothing more than making my own clothes for parties, whether from scratch or like what I did today, which was giving new life to a garment I no longer wore because I didn't really like how it looked on me.
Yesterday I decided to dust off my little sewing machine, which I stopped using because it wasn't sewing all kinds of fabric anymore and it was getting stuck a lot. However, yesterday I took it out again, bought new needles, and started testing it on various fabrics until I found the needle that was actually the one I'd been using, which is a size 14. So today I couldn't wait to get to work to get started and turn those pants into a beautiful skirt. I hope you like it ❤️ Let's get to the materials and the step-by-step instructions!

Paso 1️⃣ / Step 1️⃣ 🩵✨
Lo primero que haremos será ubicar donde vamos a cortar las botas de nuestro pantalón, luego procedemos a cortar para separar la parte de arriba de las botas del pantalón, luego terminamos de cortar la parte que quedó tipo short, para separar la parte de atrás y la de adelante y nos quede la base de la falda.
The first thing we'll do is locate where we're going to cut the legs of our pants. Then, we'll cut to separate the top of the legs from the pants. Then, we'll finish cutting the shorts-like part to separate the back and front, leaving us with the base of the skirt.
Paso 2️⃣ / Step 2️⃣ 🩵✨
Ahora vamos a tomar las botas de nuestro pantalón y las vamos a cortar, sacaremos 4 tiras, en mi caso de 13 CM de ancho y 45 de largo, luego de tenerlas cortadas vamos a proceder a unirlas con la máquina una al lado de la otra, hasta formar una tira grande, ahora vamos a tomar uno de los bordes de la tira donde haremos un dobladillo para hacerle un borde.
Now, we'll take the legs of our pants and cut them. We'll get 4 strips, in my case 13 cm wide and 45 cm long. After cutting them, we'll proceed to join them with the machine, side by side, until they form a large strip. Now, we'll take one of the edges of the strip and hem it to make a border.
Paso 3️⃣ / Step 3️⃣ 🩵✨
Tomaremos nuestra tira ya con el borde hecho y vamos a comenzar a hacer los dobladillos para dar el efecto "voladito" de la falda, en mi caso los dejé con una distancia de 5 centímetros entre cada uno, primero los ubique con alfileres y después de medir y ver qué quedaría perfectamente con la falda fue que comencé a coser cada uno de los dobladillos, para que mantuvieran su forma, luego de terminar ahora sí procedemos a unir ambas piezas, nos vamos a ubicar depende del largo que queramos, aseguramos con alfileres y comenzamos a coser, lentamente para que vayamos viendo de a ratos como va quedando la costura y la ubicación de ambas piezas, ya al terminar de unir las piezas nos queda este hermoso resultado que a mí en lo personal me encantó.
We'll take our strip with the hem already finished and begin making the hems to give the skirt the "ruffled" effect. In my case, I left them with a distance of 5 centimeters between each one. First, I positioned them with pins, and after measuring and seeing what would look perfect with the skirt, I began sewing each of the hems so they would maintain their shape. After finishing, we proceed to join both pieces. We'll position them depending on the length we want, secure them with pins, and begin sewing slowly so we can see how the seam and the placement of both pieces is turning out. When we finish joining the pieces, we have this beautiful result that I personally loved.
