Hello everybody,
I was overjoyed yesterday,Sunday, that the universe gave me opportunity or gave me time to crochet my entry, the Frankenstein Hat In Purple modelled by our original pup, Butchak. My patient, hubby, who was just out from the hospital 5 days ago behaved well plus I have done all my laundry so in the morning yesterday I searched Pinterest for crocheted dogs outfit as my inspiration. I must choose just a quick and easy project because my time was limited. Then, this Frankenstein Hat caught my eyes.
Look at the Frankenstein Hat is'nt it cute!
First I was to choose from our 12 dogs who will model the hat. I picked Police Dog, the son of Butchak. For me he is cute with his droppy ears.
I got the ruler to measure Police Dog's head but ho my he gave me hard time he always run away from me and hide under the table, he lost my patience so, I just estimated his flat head is 3 inches. It was good I found a whole ball of 5 ply milk cotton, purple color in my stash and got started using 4mm crochet hook.
The pattern:
Round(Rnd) 1: Chain(ch) 2 into magic ring,,considered as 1st half double crochet, 11 half double(hdc), Slip Stitch(sl st) into 2nd ch of 1st ch (12hdc)
Rnd 2: Ch 2, 1 hdc in same st, 2
hdc in each 11 st, sl st into 2nd ch of first ch 2. (24 hdc)
Rnd 3:Ch 2, 2 hdc in next st, 1hdc, 2hdc repeat until end of the round. (36hdc)
Rnd 4: Ch 2, 1 hdc in all st all around. (36hdc)
Rnd 5: Ch 1, 1sc in each st, one loop only.(36sc)
Rnd 6 to Rnd 12: same with Rnd 5. (36sc)
The brim:
Rnd 13: Ch 4,considered as first extended double crochet (edc), 2 edc, 1edc, 2edc alternate in each st all around. (54edc)
Rnd 14: Ch 4, considered as 1st edc, 1 edc in 6st, 2 edc in next st, repeat all around. (68 edc)
Main hat done.
I adorned it with black cotton thread and sewed 3 silver buttons at the brim.
I fold the hat and find its center I chained 70 for each side for the tie and dyaaaaaran...Frankenstein Hat, done!
On the afternoon where the sun almost hide, I chased after Police Dog but still the same he ran and ran so my alternative I called my grandson Kai helped me hold Butchak, Police Dog's mom who was relaxing at the stair of the roof top and place the Frankenstein Hat on him, tied to him. Surprisingly, she liked to be my model. Here's a video I took.
Hope you like my entry.
Thanks for dropping by...
