What a blessing it is to be able to greet you and to have this beautiful space where I can share every little outcrop of creativity. I told you in my last publication that I am very excited and enthusiastic about this technique of combining crochet with wire wrap. The truth is that it gives you everything; it is very friendly, uncomplicated and once you learn how to make the cord with a hole, you just have to give free rein to your creativity.

Que bendición es poder saludarles y contar con este bonito espacio donde poder compartir cada pequeño afloro de creatividad. Les conté en mi publicación pasada que me encuentro muy emocionada y entusiasmada con esta técnica de combinar el crochet con alambrismo. La verdad, es que da para todo; es muy amigable, nada de complicaciones y una vez que aprendes hacer el cordón con orificio, solo hay que dar rienda suelta a la creatividad.

You may have already noticed that one of my favorite figures to recreate are the Owls. They are so enigmatic and at the same time very tender, in a word: Inspiring.

Ya habrán notado que una de mis figuras favoritas para recrear son los Búhos. Son tan enigmáticos y al mismo tiempo muy tiernos, en una palabra: Inspiradores.

I knitted a little owl. It should measure about 5 inches from its pointed feathers that look like ears. It is a single piece. I started with two small cone-shaped pieces that are made from 4 low stitches in a magic ring. Then two increases are made per round until the third round. Then you join both pieces with a chain of four stitches and the next thing is to knit without increases until the desired size. The last thing is the decreases that were in this case one every four stitches, then every three stitches, then 2 and we fill to close.

Tejí un pequeño búho. Debe medir unos 5 centímetros desde sus puntiagudas plumas que parecen orejas. Es una sola pieza. Empecé con dos pequeñas piezas en forma de cono que se realizan a partir de 4 puntos bajos en un anillo mágico. Luego se realizan dos aumentos por vuelta hasta la tercera vuelta. Luego se unen ambas piezas con una cadena de cuatro puntos y lo siguiente es tejer sin aumentos hasta el tamaño deseado. Lo último son las disminuciones que fueron en este caso una cada cuatro puntos, luego cada tres, luego 2 y rellenamos para cerrar.

Then I knitted the wings. For this I knitted 8 chain stitches, then a single crochet until the end of the chain, in the next round I did not knit until the end, but left a single crochet and in the third round, the same. I knitted the beak, the claws and the eyes and at once some leaves for the branch where the owl will perch.

A parte tejí las alas. Para ello teji 8 puntos de cadena, luego un puntos bajos hasta el final de la cadena, en la siguiente vuelta no tejí hasta el final, sino que dejé un punto sin tejer y en la tercera, igual. Tejí el pico, las garras y los ojos y de una vez algunas hojas para la rama donde posará el búho.

For the branch I knitted a cord of about 20 centimeters approximately. I used a green crochet thread. Then I thought that a brown color would be better, but the owl is already brown and it would be too dark. We measure the wire to the size of the cord and insert it into the hole in the cord. With a pair of tweezers we make a ring at each end to avoid hurting ourselves and the wire coming out. We make a circle for the base, then a smaller one that will help to give stability and some curves as it suits us to pose the owl.

Para la rama tejí un cordón de unos 20 centímetros aproximadamente. Utilicé un hilo de crochet verde. Después pensé que convenía un color café, pero ya en búho es café y quedaría todo muy oscuro. Medimos el alambre del tamaño del cordón y lo introducimos en el orificio del cordón. Con una pinza hacemos una argolla en cada extremo para evitar lastimarnos y que se salga el alambre. Hacemos un círculo para la base, luego uno más pequeño que ayudará a dar estabilidad y algunas curvas según nos convenga para posar al búho.

Now to assemble everything. We place the parts of the owl except the claws, we fix them directly to the branch. We can help us with silicone and a few stitches. We place the leaves on the branch and finally our little friend.

Ahora a ensamblar todo. Colocamos las partes del búho excepto las garras, estás las fijamos directamente a la rama. Podemos ayudarnos con silicón y unas puntadas. Colocamos las hojas de la rama y finalmente a nuestro pequeño amigo.
