Bendecido lunes de agujas. Hoy amaneció con un sol espléndido y es perfecto porque además es festivo en Colombia. A mis niños les gusta mucho porque podemos planificar ir al parque, aunque como tienen una mascota, están muy emocionados y no creo que se acuerden del parque. Miluc es el gatito de los niños. While they play, I take the opportunity to weave a very entertaining project with wire. The truth is that I had doubts, because I didn't think that wire was so friendly. I started by designing my daughter Rafaella's name on a piece of paper. I took the measurements of the letters and wrote the name in cursive. Then I took the wire and shaped it with the help of a tweezers.

Mientras ellos juegan, yo aprovecho a tejer un proyecto muy entretenido con alambre. La verdad es que tenía dudas, pues no me pareció que el alambre fuese tan amigable. Empecé diseñando el nombre de mi hija Rafaella en un papel. Tomé las medidas de las letras y escribí el nombre en cursiva. Luego tomé el alambre y le fui dando forma con la ayuda de una pinza.

The next step was to weave a cord of approximately two meters equivalent to the size of the wire we used for the name. The weaving is simple. I picked up 6 low stitches in a magic ring and then I knitted without increases, row after row until the desired length.

Lo siguiente fue tejer un cordón de aproximadamente dos metros equivalente a la medida del alambre que usamos para el nombre. El tejido es simple. Levanté 6 puntos bajos en un anillo mágico y luego tejí sin aumentos, vuelta tras vuelta hasta el largo deseado

Then I wanted to pass the cord covering the already formed wire, but I realized that it was too complicated to keep the shape, especially in very tight bends. I took the risk of disassembling the name and introduced the wire through the cord and it was the best decision. After passing all the wire through I shaped the name and it seemed much easier.

Seguidamente quise pasar el cordón cubriendo el alambre ya formado, pero me di cuenta que era demasiado complicado mantener la forma sobre todo en las curvas muy cerradas. Me arriesgué a desarmar el nombre e introduje el alambre por el oficio del cordón y fue la mejor decisión. Luego de pasar todo el alambre le di forma al nombre y me pareció mucho más fácil.

To assemble the name again I used the pattern on the paper as a guide, but it was a little bigger because the wire is thicker and it is more complex to make smaller shapes, that's why you see a mistake in the name because it says Rafaela and not Rafaella. It is a small error that bothers my eyes, but the experience helped me to change the method of work.

Para armar el nombre nuevamente use como guía el patrón en el papel, pero quedó un poco más grande debido a que es alambre forrado es más grueso y es más complejo hacer formas más pequeñas, por eso ven un fallo en el nombre pues dice Rafaela y no Rafaella. Es un pequeño error que me molesta en la vista, pero me sirvió la experiencia para cambiar el método de trabajo.

We can use this technique to do many things in two dimensions. I have several ideas in mind, for now I share with you this simple model. I say goodbye wishing you all prosperity in everything.
