ENG/ESP Crocheted tree stand. / Pie de árbol hecho a crochet.

I finally achieved my goal of finishing the tree stand. I had a moral commitment to finish this project. The delay I had with the above mentioned, is that it is a slightly longer work, actually it is not very complicated, because everything is knitted with high high stitches and a small variation every few stitches to give it the shape of a star, but it is laborious.

Finalmente logré mi cometido de terminar el pie de árbol. Tenía un compromiso moral de llevar a término este proyecto. El retraso que tuve con el mencionado, es que es un trabajo un poco más largo, en realidad no es muy complicado, pues se teje todo con puntos altos altos y una pequeña variación cada ciertos puntos para darle la forma de estrella, pero sí es laborioso.

I think I started it at the end of September, but I always felt the urge to start new work and my tree foot was stuck in a box for a whole month. I had two days to finish it without even looking anywhere else but the bag I had it in and after several cups of coffee and a full season of Sweet Tooth I ended up with this beautiful Christmas tree stand.

Creo que lo empecé a finales de septiembre, pero siempre me ganaban las ganas de empezar nuevas labores y mi pie de árbol se estancó en una caja por todo un mes. Dispuse de dos días para terminarlo sin siquiera mirar a otro lado más que la bolsa donde lo tenía guardado y después de varias tazas de café y una temporada completa de Sweet Tooth terminé con este hermoso pie de árbol navideño.

I saw the pattern on Youtube on the lanasytejidosec channel. I made several modifications, following my own pattern in terms of color changes and also used crochet thread instead of wool, because I think that for a mat that will be on the floor, the thread is more convenient, especially if we have pets, in case, a naughty kitten.

El modelo lo ví en Youtube en el canal de lanasytejidosec. Hice varias modificaciones, siguiendo mi propio patrón en cuanto a los cambios de colores y además utilicé hilo crochet en lugar de lana, pues pienso que para ser un tapete que estará en el piso, el hilo es más conveniente, sobre todo si tenemos mascotas, en caso, un travieso gatito.

We start our work on 76 chains. We pick up 3 chains replacing the first high stitch and then we knit a stitch in the same stitch, so we get an increase starting the chain. Then we knit 5 chains in the sixth stitch, two high stitches separated by two chains, forming a V. We continue in the same way until we reach the end of the chain and knit an increase in the last available stitch.

Empezamos nuestra labor sobre 76 cadenas. Levantamos 3 cadenas que reemplazan el primer punto alto y luego tejemos un punto en el mismo punto, así obtenemos un aumento empezando la cadena. Luego tejemos 5 cadenas en el sexto punto dos puntos altos separados por dos cadenas, formando una V. Seguimos de la misma manera hasta llegar al final de cadena y tejemos un aumento en el último punto que nos queda disponible.

Turn the knitting over and knit two double crochets in the same stitch. We continue with 3 double crochet stitches, skip the next stitch, that is, we do not have in the stitch next to the three double crochets and we knit 3 double crochet stitches. Over the V, we knit a double crochet separated by two chains and a new V will be formed. We knit in the same way the whole row and so on every time we finish a row. Remember to always make the increase in the last available stitch of each row.

Danos vuelta al tejido y realizamos dos puntos altos en el mismo punto. Seguimos con 3 puntos altos, saltamos el siguiente punto, es decir no tenemos en el punto inmediato a los tres puntos altos y tejemos 3 puntos altos. Sobre la V, tejemos un punto alto separado por dos cadenas y se formará una nueva V. Tejemos de la misma manera toda la vuelta y así cada vez que terminamos una vuelta. Recordemos siempre hacer el aumento en el último punto disponible de cada vuelta.

The color changes are done as you like. I used as a base a red wine colored yarn that I had bought a long time ago and had 300 grams, plus the color changes, I used approximately 400 grams of yarn for the whole thing.

Los cambios de color los realizamos a nuestro gusto. Yo utilicé como base un hilo color vino tinto que había comprado hacía mucho y tenía 300 gramos, más los cambios de color, aproximadamente gaste unos 400 gramos de hilo por todo.

We finished off the edges of the whole tree foot and on the skirt I made 3 chains leaving a stitch in between to give it a little more movement.

Rematamos los bordes de todo el pie de árbol y en la parte de la falda realicé 3 cadenas dejando punto de por medio para darle un poco más de movimiento.

I felt a lot of pressure to finish this work, for a tree is so important the tree foot, it is what shoes mean to us, can you imagine a whole gala without shoes? Sentía mucha presión de terminar esta labor, para un arbolito es tan importante el pie de árbol, es lo que para nosotros significan los zapatos. ¿Se imaginan toda una gala y sin zapatos?
