Blessed day to all my friends and colleagues of NeedleWorkMonday, I hope your week has been very profitable. We are already at the beginning of the weekend and I tell you that the weather in my city is getting crazier and crazier. Yesterday we had a very hot day with a very intense sun and today it hasn't stopped raining. The rains are very heavy and because of this there have been power and internet service failures. Fortunately, I have been able to connect to share with you a new amigurumi project.

Some of the details to keep in mind are the increases and decreases. With this pattern I have been practicing the decreases. The decreases must be done very neatly to avoid gaps and the amigurumi stuffing showing through. You also have to perfect the spiral knitting, for this I help myself with knitting markers, but I have seen in some tutorials of people with much more experience that it is uncomfortable to knit with the marker and they are only guided by counting the stitches. I don't think I can do it that way because there is always something that distracts my attention and I lose count. How do you do it?
Another aspect that I consider that I still need to perfect is the stuffing of the dolls. This time the pink whale was much fatter than the blue one, maybe that's why the pattern deformed a little. It is still difficult for me to calculate the amount of stuffing needed for each design, the important thing is that I keep trying and the time will come when I will know it with more accuracy.

The pattern for this whale is very simple, you can find it on You tube, there are many tutorials that show us a step by step very simple and easy to follow. To embroider the eyes I followed the advice of my expert friends and used a thinner thread.
With this pair of cute whales I plan to make some couple keychains to give to my sister and brother-in-law, who will soon open their new house. The original idea was to place magnets inside the stuffing so that they attract and join together. But I didn't get small magnets. I still think they will look great as keychains.
It was a pleasure for me to share this new knitting experience with you. Thanks for reading, greetings and many blessings.
