Christmas is that time that everyone loves, it is the time that is associated with generosity as many people motivated by the Christmas spirit, often make gifts to family and friends as a token of affection and appreciation they have for them.

Our friend Hive account@irenenavarroart gives us the opportunity to show our appreciation, admiration and affection to some of our colleagues at Hive, through her new initiative based on an Exchange of handmade gifts.

I take this opportunity to invite the members of this beautiful community to participate in this beautiful initiative, especially our friends Hive account@creacioneslelys and Hive account@linita.

The main idea of this challenge is to dedicate a detail and a post to that Hive we admire, it's like a Christmas present. I confess that this challenge is very, very difficult for me, since there are many people I admire on this platform, both for their talent and for their dedication to Hive.

However, I didn't want to stay without participating and supporting the contest, so after analyzing it a lot I decided to choose a very special person that I met some time ago here at needleworkmonday.
For this person I thought of making her something knitted for her home since this person also likes to knit and is always making beautiful things to decorate her home.

This is a nice rug knitted with the TAPESTRY CROCHET technique.
Tapestry is a technique that I really like and I would love to master it, for now I have only done small projects but when it comes to making a gift I try to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone to give the object a little more value and imbue it with all my love and dedication.

In this posts I'm not going to make a tutorial of the project, because the idea is to tell you about this person to whom I decided to make this rug, while I tell you about this needleworker I'll show you the pictures of the process.

Well, this friend is a super optimistic person, with a positive energy that is contagious, she always has words of encouragement for every occasion. On the other hand, she is a very creative woman with endless talent and creativity. All her projects are worthy of admiration for the quality of their finishes and for the love she gives to each one of them. She is a person in love with Hive, she is faithful to the platform and its principles and has an impeccable track record as a hiver. I am talking about my friend Hive account@carolinacardoza, that always friendly and cordial woman I met a year ago thanks to Hive. She is a Hiver friend since we only know each other virtually, but our friendship has gone beyond the pc screen, she has given me very good advice and has encouraged me when things were not going well with my blog. That's why I have knitted her this rug with a lot of love. Although we are in different countries and this is just a symbolic gift, I made it with love and always thinking about her beautiful personality. I hope you like it and I am anxious to know your opinion about the technique I use.

To weave in Tapestry Crochet you have to be very concentrated, to be able to put together the figure you want and at the same time prevent the threads from getting tangled, which was a little tedious for me. To prevent the two threads from tangling with each turn, I had to use a basket to place both spools.

A rasgos generales creo que me salió bien la figura, es la primera vez que trabajo este patrón pero me encantó retarme y haberlo logrado. Ustedes qué opinan? Overall I think I did well with the figure, it's the first time I've worked this pattern but I was happy to challenge myself and to have succeeded. What do you think?
