Hello to all my dear needleworkers. We meet again to share a new project with needles. It has been a long time since I sat down to work on a knitting project due to some health problems and the multiple occupations of the day to day.
However, I really needed to knit something again, but I felt that it should be a small, simple project without any pattern. Something that would allow me to relax and just knit until I was surprised with the result. That's how this beautiful project came up; A nice and practical pencil case ideal for storing pens, or even knitting needles.
Sunday afternoons are my time to rest and disconnect from the interwebs, I usually watch a movie, chat with my kids or do some crafting. Last Sunday I felt the need to get back to knitting, so I went through my boxes of materials where I keep some yarn and wool and found some scraps of Nylon. After some aimless chain stitching, it occurred to me to make a pencil case to send to my older sister in Venezuela.
I have knitted pencil cases before and I really love making them with this material because they are very firm and especially because they can be washed without problems and the color remains intact.

#1
To begin with, I knitted a base of approximately 15 centimeters, in single crochet.
#2
To start the knitting upwards, I knit one row of cream coloured single crochet. Taking only one strand of the chain from the previous row.
#3
For the next round I began to intersperse the three colors, making a single crochet of each color. The rest of the yarn is carried inside the stitches, as is done in the Tapestry Crochet technique.
#4
After knitting two rows, I knit one more row in cream color. Always knitting in single crochet.
#5
Then I continued knitting rows of single crochet with the green color, until I obtained a thick stripe. Always carrying the other two colors inside the stitch. Knitting this way makes the project firmer and also looks very pretty.
#6
Then I knit two more rounds in tapestry and closed with a loop in green.
#7
The last step was to sew the zipper. For this step I asked for my mother's help because I really don't like to sew by hand. This kind of projects can be made in different sizes, different color combinations and play with multiple designs.
Espero que este diseño sea de su agrado. Hasta una próxima publicación. Saludos y bendiciones.
I felt very good doing this project, the truth is that crochet is an extraordinary relaxation technique. I really liked the final result. I think the color combination looks great and the tapestry technique is one of my favorites for making bags, pencil cases and cosmetic holders.
I hope you like this design. See you in a future post. Greetings and blessings.
