La publicación del día de hoy es mi pequeño aporte al nuevo concurso de nuestra comunidad, esto no quiere decir que sea una entrada al concurso, es simplemente una manera de apoyar las actividades que se promueven en esta linda comunidad.
Blessed day my dear and appreciated NeedleWorkMonday crafter friends, I wish you a wonderful weekend.
Today's post is my small contribution to the new contest of our community, this does not mean it is an entry to the contest, it is simply a way to support the activities that are promoted in this beautiful community.
The contest is called NeedleWork your season and its main idea is to make a needlework project that reflects the season we are living in this month. I am currently back in Venezuela and in this country we don't have the four seasons, we simply have a dry period and a rainy one. Now in this time we are in the rainy season, it rains almost every afternoon and the weather becomes much cooler. However, during my stay in Peru, I had the opportunity to enjoy the four climatic seasons and my favorite is, without a doubt, spring. That is why I decided to make this project in honor of my favorite season.
For this project I wanted to do something colorful and cheerful. It turns out that for days I was thinking about making some coasters for the small study room we have at home, since my daughter always receives some of her classmates there to do their homework. So it occurred to me to make some flower-shaped woven coasters in different colors.
The pattern for this project is extremely easy to make. It is simply three rounds. The first row is made with 16 double crochet stitches in a magic ring. The second round is knit with the same double crochet stitches but leaving two chain stitches apart. For the third row, you knit a fan of six double crochet stitches with a half chain stitch.
In total I made six coasters woven in two strands, one strand of pábilo and one strand of acrylic yarn in different colors. I really liked the final result, because they were very firm. I hope you also like it and are encouraged to participate in the community contest. Thanks for reading, greetings and blessings.
