El termino péplum, hace referencia a un volante que tienen algunos diseños de blusas y que suele salir desde la cintura, algunas faldas también lo tienen, estos estilos de blusa son ideales para aquellos cuerpos con poca cintura ya que el volante crea una ilusión de cuerpos de reloj de arena, además son diseños que la mayoría de las veces resultan muy elegantes. El día de hoy les mostrare como hacer los patrones de una blusa con péplum que además llevara un corte princesa, los patrones son muy fáciles de hacer y al final (en la siguiente publicación) tendremos un resultado hermoso.
The term pleplum, refers to a ruffle that some blouse designs have and that usually comes from the waist, some skirts also have it, these styles of blouse are ideal for those bodies with little waist because the ruffle creates an illusion of hourglass bodies, they are also designs that most of the time are very elegant. Today I will show you how to make the patterns for a blouse with pleplum that will also have a princess cut, the patterns are very easy to make and at the end (in the next publication) we will have a beautiful result.

Para estos patrones además de contar con el básico, también necesite 2 medidas extra, Altura de Pecho y Separación de Pecho. Esta blusa la hare con corte princesa y además trabajare con tela elástica, así que en el patrón hare unas reducciones, pero estas serán diferentes. Lo primero que hice fue trazar el patrón básico con todas las líneas guía.
For these patterns besides having the basic pattern, I also need 2 extra measurements, Breast Height and Breast Separation. I will make this blouse with princess cut and I will also work with elastic fabric, so in the pattern I will make some reductions, but these will be different. The first thing I did was to trace the basic pattern with all the guide lines.
Desde del hombro hacia abajo medí la altura de pecho e hice una línea, luego desde la línea central hacia la derecha medí ½ de Separación de pecho y escuadre hacia abajo esta marca. En la cintura medí 1cm a cada lado de esta línea que acabo de hacer, y así forme una pinza.
From the shoulder down I measured the chest height and made a line, then from the center line to the right I measured ½ of the chest separation and squared down this mark. At the waist I measured 1cm on each side of this line I just made, and so formed a darts.
Ubique la mitad de la curva de la sisa y medí 1cm a cada lado de la marca que hice y con curvas uní cada marca a la pinza. En el vértice hombro-sisa medí 2 cm y uní esta marca a la sisa con una línea semi recta, esto lo hice porque cuando se cosa la pinza que acabo de hacer en la sisa esta adoptará una curva más pronunciada que posteriormente hay que corregir.
I located the middle of the curve of the armhole and measured 1cm on each side of the mark I made and with curves I joined each mark to the clip. At the shoulder-armhole vertex I measured 2 cm and joined this mark to the armhole with a semi-straight line, I did this because when I sew the clamp I just made on the armhole it will adopt a more pronounced curve that later needs to be corrected.
De la línea de sisa medí 5cm hacia arriba para hacer una nueva curva de cuello, con un escote mas pronunciado. Para cortar estas piezas, en otro papel tracé la pieza más pequeña del delantero y le añadí márgenes de costura, y así le di márgenes también a la pieza más grande.
From the armhole line I measured 5cm upwards to make a new neck curve, with a more pronounced neckline. To cut these pieces, on another piece of paper I traced the smaller front piece and added seam allowances, and thus gave seam allowances to the larger piece as well.
En la espalda hice básicamente lo mismo, ubique el centro de la cintura y marqué 1cm a cada lado para formar la pinza que en este caso lleve hasta la línea de sisa, pero después me di cuenta que estaba muy arriba, así que recomiendo mas llevarla a 4cm por debajo de la línea de sisa.
On the back I did basically the same thing, I located the center of the waist and marked 1cm on each side to form the pincer, which in this case I took to the armhole line, but then I realized that it was too high, so I recommend taking it 4cm below the armhole line.
En la curva de la sisa hice lo mismo y en el hombro también, solo que aquí si tuve que dibujar nuevamente la sisa porque no había forma de trazarla más recta sin tener que hacerla de nuevo. El cuello lo deje exactamente igual.
I did the same for the curve of the armhole and the shoulder, only here I had to redraw the armhole because there was no way to draw it straighter without redrawing it. The neck I left it exactly the same.
Para hacer el peplum, medí la cintura de todos los patrones (sin márgenes obviamente) y la medida que obtuve la multiplique x2 y ese resultado lo dividí entre 3,14. Desde la esquina del papel trace esta medida para hacer una semicircunferencia, luego a esta medida le sume 19cm (que es el largo promedio del péplum, si lo quieres más corto puede ser de 17cm) + 3cm de margen de costura, y nuevamente desde la esquina formé la segunda semicircunferencia.
To make the peplum, I measured the waist of all the patterns (without margins obviously) and the measurement I got I multiplied it x2 and that result I divided it by 3,14. From the corner of the paper I traced this measurement to make a semicircumference, then to this measurement I added 19cm (which is the average length of the peplum, if you want it shorter it can be 17cm) + 3cm seam allowance, and again from the corner I formed the second semicircumference.
