Good morning friends of Needle Work ❤️! I hope you are feeling very well today and that you start the week with a lot of energy. I'm quite far from sewing itself around here: I haven't found a moment of inspiration to sew for a long time, but I think it's only because every day I have something else to do and that I'll be back in the game soon 😅. For the moment I decided to go to my machine again but to try to solve something that last time had something annoying me: the lighting of my photographs 😘.
¡Buen día amigos de Needle Work ❤️! Espero que se encuentren muy bien hoy y que empiecen la semana con mucha energía. Por aquí ando bastante alejada de la costura en sí: hace tiempo que no encuentro un momento de inspiración para coser pero pienso que es solo porque todos los días tengo alguna otra cosa para hacer y que pronto volveré al ruedo 😅. Por el momento decidí acercarme a mi máquina otra vez pero para intentar solucionar algo que la última vez me tuvo algo molesta: la iluminación de mis fotografías 😘.
My sewing space is this, I don't remember if I ever showed them to you 😅. Well, actually this is the tidy part since in my room is the real warehouse of fabrics and supplies. Before I took the trouble to put the machine on the table and then put it away, but this was very uncomfortable so I got this fixed corner in a part of my house. The bad thing is that it is quite dark and when I feel it is worse, since with my own body I make more shadow.
Mi espacio de costura es este, no recuerdo si se los mostré alguna vez 😅. Bueno, en realidad esta es la parte ordenada ya que en mi habitación está el verdadero depósito de telas e insumos. Antes me tomaba el trabajo de poner la máquina en la mesa y luego la guardaba, pero esto era muy incómodo por lo que conseguí este rincón fijo en una parte de mi casa. Lo malo es que es bastante oscuro y cuando me siento es peor, ya que con mi propio cuerpo hago más sombra para las fotos.
The main problem is that with the current lighting my photos look like this. Although with the new cell phone the lighting of the image is greater than with my old cell phone, this does not avoid the shadow that my body produces since the main lighting of my dining room is behind me.
El problema principal es que con la iluminación actual mis fotografías se ven así. Si bien con el celular nuevo la iluminación propia de la imagen es mayor que con mi antiguo celular, esto no evita la sombra que produce mi cuerpo ya que la iluminación principal de mi comedor queda a mis espaldas.
Unfortunately, using the cell phone flash is not an option because in this way the photos come out like this. It is as if the entire background is darkened and the photo is a color that is too different from what is seen in reality.
Lamentablemente, usar el flash del celular no es una opción porque de este modo laa fotos salen así. Es como si se ocureciera todo el fondo y la foto queda de un color demasiado diferente al que se ve en la realidad.
To try and fix this, I took a small desk lamp from my sister. This lamp has led lights and works on batteries. It is bright enough to be so small so I thought it could be useful for what I need it.
Para intentar solucionar esto, tomé una pequeña lámpara de escritorio de mi hermana. Esta lámpara es de luces led y funciona a pilas. Ilumina bastante para ser tan pequeña por lo que pensé que podría see útil para lo que yo la necesito.
In this way, I got a slightly brighter picture after finding the correct position of the lamp and preventing it from being seen within the image 😅.
De este modo, obtuve una fotografía algo más iluminada después de encontrar la posición correcta de la lámpara y evitar que no se vea dentro de la imágen 😅.
However, the main problem is when I have to take pictures of the doll with the project ready. This lamp is small, so for this type of photograph I cannot rest it and I must hold it with my hand. This makes the shadow that the doll produces is different each time and I did not like that. Here is a photo without the lamp and then with it.
Sin embargo, el principal problema es cuando tengo que sacarle fotos a la muñeca con el proyecto listo. Esta lámpara es pequeña, por lo que para este tipo de fotografías no puedo dejarla apoyada y la debo sostener con la mano. Esto hace que la sombra que produce la muñeca sea distinta cada vez y eso no me gustó. Aquí una foto sin la lámpara y luego con ella.
Well, this result did not leave me completely satisfied, so I continued to dig in my house and my mother suggested that I could use these LED strips that we used to light up the desk of an old computer. These strips have a much higher light output than the small lamp but have to be plugged in so I am limited by the length of the cord.
Bien, este resultado no me dejó del todo conforme por lo que seguí urgando en mi casa y mi mamá sugirió que podía usar estas tiras de led que antes usábamos para iluminar el escritorio de una vieja computadora. Estas tiras tienen una potencia de iluminación mucho mayor que la pequeña lámpara pero deveb enchufarse así que estoy limitada por el largo del cable.
With this strip resting on the machine I can take good pictures of the project in its intermediate stages. As the light is very strong, I don't get any unwanted shadow.
Con esta tira apoyada sobre la máquina puedo sacar buenas fotografías al proyecto en sus etapas intermedias. Como la luz es muy fuerte no me sale ninguna sombra indeseada.
But again I had to figure out how I was going to photograph the doll with a fixed light so that the photos would always be the same. After seeing and seeing, it occurred to me to put the strip like this on the back of the chair and to move it around depending on the photo I want to take.
Pero otra vez tuve que solucionar cómo iba a fotografiar a la muñeca con una luz fija para que las fotos salieran siempre igual. Después de ver y ver se me ocurrió poner la tira así sobre el respaldo de la silla e ir cambiandola de lugar dependiendo de la foto que quiera tomar.
In this way, I obtained these photographs. Here is a comparison without any lighting, with flash and with the LED strip.
De esta forma, obtuve estas fotografías. Aquí una comparación sin ninguna iluminación, con flash y con la tira de leds.
I think that when you see more lighting, the details are better observed and the photos come out sharper. This pleases me since with the lighting alone that the cell phone gives it, this does not look so defined.
Pienso que al ver más iluminación se observan mejor los detalles y las fotos salen más nítidas. Esto me agrada ya que con la iluminación sola que le da eo celular esto no se ve tan definido.
Perhaps the only photo that I did not like was the typical horizontal one that I put at the end of the posts, where the complete machine is seen. The background comes out quite dark even though the doll is lit up.
Quizás la única foto que no me gustó fue la típica horizontal que pongo al final de los posts, en donde se ve la máquina completa. El fondo sale bastante oscuro a pesar de que la muñeca está iluminada.
After all this, I have two conclusions: one is that the photos with the led strip I like better except the last one of the complete machine and another is that without a doubt I should get a support for the strips because I put it on the back of the chair it's totally awkward 😂. I am going to consider buying a light ring with a fixed foot, but before that I am going to do another photo shoot test where I only illuminate the intermediate steps of the project with the little lamp and take the photos of the doll in my yard. with natural light. In my head this sounds good so I'm going to give it a try before any purchase 😅.
Después de todo esto, tengo dos conclusiones: una es que las fotos con la tira de led me gustan más salvo la última de la máquina completa y otra es que sin dudas debo conseguir un soporte para las tiras porque ponerlo en el respaldo de la silla es totalmente incómodo 😂. Voy a considerar comprar un aro de luz con un pie fijo, pero antes de eso voy a hacer otra prueba de sesión de fotos en donde solo ilumine los pasos intermedios del proyecto con la pequeña lámpara y las fotos de la muñeca las tome en mi patio con luz natural. En mi cabeza esto suena bien, por lo que voy a intentarlo antes de cualquier compra 😅.
Another thing I noticed is that taking good pictures is very difficult 😂. So now I know with good reason all the work that goes into a large, properly lit image and a great shot. I think once you're into blogging you just want to improve the quality of the posts more and more and this is great because you end up learning about a lot of things ❤️. I hope my next post is better than what I have been doing so far now that I take all of this into account 😘.
Otra cosa que noté es que tomar buenas fotografías es muy difícil 😂. Por lo que ahora sé con total razón todo el trabajo que hay detrás de una gran imagen correctamente iluminada y una gran toma. Pienso que una vez que estas en esto de los blogs solo quieres mejorar la calidad de los posts más y más y esto es algo genial porque terminas aprendiendo sobre un montón de cosas ❤️. Espero que mi próximo post sea mejor que lo que vine haciendo hasta ahora ahora que tengo en cuenta todo esto 😘.
