Hello friends from Needle Work Monday! I hope you are very well today, happy Wednesday to everyone. Today I show up a little late in the week and in the day to share my sewing project with you. Today the day was beautiful so I took advantage of the sun to be outside and only now do I sit down to share what I sewed yesterday. It is about this dress for my little doll ❤️.
¡Hola amigos de Needle Work Monday! Espero que se encuentren muy bien hoy, feliz miércoles para todos. Hoy aparezco un poco tarde en la semana y en el día para compartir con ustedes mi proyecto de costura. Hoy el día estuvo hermoso así que aproveché el sol para estar afuera y recién ahora me siento a compartir lo que cosí ayer. Se trata de este vestido para mi pequeña muñeca ❤️.
In this part of the world, spring is almost here, my favorite season, where it is hot but not so hot. I'm a fan of dresses: I like them short, long, plain, patterned, to wear at night, to wear during the day. And I think I'm spreading my taste to my doll, who by the way has a wide wardrobe of dresses as you have seen in previous publications 😅.
En esta parte de mundo ya casi llega la primavera, mi estación preferida, donde hace calor pero no tanto. Yo soy fanática de los vestidos: me gustan cortos, largos, lisos, estampados, para usar de noche, para usar de día. Y creo que estoy contagiando mi gusto a mi muñeca, quién por cierto tiene un amplio guardarropas de vestidos como han podido ver en publicaciones anteriores 😅.
To make this dress and because of spring, I chose this fabric with a flowery pattern. Only two pieces are needed, one for the top and one for the skirt. This time the skirt will be a gathered rectangle for a better effect ❤️.
Para hacer este vestido y por motivo de la primavera, elegí esta tela con estampa floreada. Solo se necesitan dos piezas, una para el top y otra para la pollera. Esta vez la pollera será un rectángulo fruncido para que tenga una mejor vista ❤️.
To make the top, I first made the small hem at the top and then closed the darts at the waist. This makes the garment better adapt to the body of the doll, who by the way, has enviable measurements 😅!
Para realizar el top primero hice el pequeño dobladillo de la parte superior y luego cerré las pinzas de la cintura. Esto hace que la prenda se adapte mejor al cuerpo de la muñeca, quien por cierto, ¡tiene unas medidas envidiables 😅!
For the skirt, I did all the hemming at the bottom first. For this I helped myself with quite a few pins because I wanted it to come out as neat as possible. This fabric frays quite a bit, so I couldn't do without it.
Para la pollera, primero hice todo el dobladillo en la parte inferior. Para esto me ayudé de bastantes alfileres porque quería que me saliera lo más prolijo posible. Esta tela se deshilacha bastante, por lo que no podía prescindir de él.
Then, with the help of a needle, I made a basting to achieve the gathering of the skirt. The good thing about this is that the more fabric we add, the more gathered and cute our dress will be ❤️.
Luego, con ayuda de una aguja realicé un hilvanado para lograr el frunce de la pollera. Lo bueno de esto es que mientras más tela añadamos, más fruncido y lindo quedará nuestro vestido ❤️.
As always, the crucial part is to match top to skirt. For this, we must arrange the gathering in such a way that the measurement in both pieces matches. For this, pins should also be used so we avoid that the pieces are twisted.
Como siempre, la parte crucial es unir top con pollera. Para esto, debemos acomodar el frunce de modo tal que coincida la medida en ambas piezas. Para esto también se deben usar alfileres así evitamos que las piezas queden torcidas.
Finally, we put a velcro on the back so that the dress can be opened and closed, and we finish sewing the back of the skirt.
Finalmente, en la espalda colocamos un velcro para que el vestido pueda abrirse y cerrarse, y terminamos de coser la parte de atrás de la pollera.
And this is the end result of our dress! Cute and elegant to welcome spring ❤️.

As a self-criticism of my work as a blogger and pseudo-doll photographer, in my next sewing project I will try to improve the lighting of my photography set (my machine). I admit that there is a big change between seeing the photos on the cell phone and then on the computer, but I think everything would improve if I put a lamp in a better location, as
