Even though I told myself over and over again that I would finish using the supplies I had since the last time I made a big purchase, I couldn't break my temper and ended up going over my own words. And it seems that my urge to buy and have beautiful things to use is stronger than me, so once again I gave in to the temptation of consumerism (well, I'm just exaggerating: I really needed to buy a couple of things because some of them I missed them a long time ago and that's why I haven't been sewing recently) 😅.
A pesar de que me repetí una y otra vez que terminaría de usar los insumos que tenía desde la última vez que hice una compra grande, no pude con mi genio y terminé por pasar por encima de mis propias palabras. Y es que parece que mi impulso por comprar y tener cosas hermosas para usar es más fuerte que yo, así que otra vez caí ante la tentación del consumismo (bueno, solo estoy exagerando: en verdad necesitaba comprar un par de cosas porque algunas de ellas me faltaban hace tiempo y es por eso que no estuve cosiendo recientemente) 😅.
The issue with making lingerie is that you need a LOT of supplies to be able to make the garments, mainly the bras: you need a thin elastic here, a thick elastic there, a washer here, a hook there, etc. In addition to the fact that all these things require specific sewing techniques, everything translates into money that must be invested at the same time to have all the necessary supplies when assembling the garment.
El tema con la confección de lencería es que se necesitan MUCHOS insumos para poder fabricar las prendas, principalmente los corpiños: que necesitan un elástico fino para aquí, un elástico grueso para allá, una arandela por aquí, un gancho por allá, etc. Además de que todas esas cosas requieren técnicas específicas de costura, todo se traduce en dinero que hay que invertir al mismo tiempo para contar con todos los insumos necesarios a la hora del armado de la prenda.
It's been over a year since I've last made a wholesale purchase. On that occasion, she had bought 50 meters of decorative elastic, the one used for the edges of panties and bodice contours. 50 meters is a lot of stretch and I ended up using all of it. I didn't count exactly how many garments I made, but I'm sure there were several. This time I bought another one with a different design, so I could have a bit of variety in my wardrobe ❣️.
Ya ha pasado más de un año desde la última vez que había hecho una compra mayorista. En esa oportunidad había comprado 50 metros de elástico decorativo, el que se usa para los bordes de las bombachas y contornos de corpiños. 50 metros es un montón de elástico y terminé usandolo todo. No conté exacto cuantas prendas hice, pero seguro fueron varias. Esta vez compré otro con un diseño diferente, para poder tener un poco de variedad en mi armario ❣️.
But the problem is that when I start buying some things it never ends up being 'just some things' 😂.
Pero el problema es que cuando empiezo a comprar algunas cosas nunca terminan siendo 'solo algunas cosas' 😂.
What I wanted to buy since the first and last time I made a harness were the elastics for straps. I really liked this type of garment but from that moment I learned that it takes several centimeters to be able to wrap the whole body. And then I bought like 30 meters of black and red. We'll see what comes of this 😅.
Lo que tenía ganas de comprar desde la primera y última vez que confeccioné un arnés eran los elasticos para breteles. Realmente me gustó este tipo de prenda pero desde ese momento aprendí que se requieren varios centímetros para poder envolver todo el cuerpo. Y entonces me compré como 30 metros de en color negro y rojo. Ya veremos que surge de esto 😅.
And although I said several times that I would never buy fabric again, I just couldn't resist and bought these new colors. The burgundy is my favorite color and I am already imagining a beautiful top made with it, and the other is a green and black fabric to vary a little. I hope that all these materials make me want to work because I really want to transform them into beautiful clothes ❣️.
Y aunque varias veces dije que no volvería a comprar tela, simplemente no me pude resistir y me compré estos coloees nuevos. El bordó es mi color favorito y ya estoy imaginando un top hermoso hecho con él, y la otra es una tela verde y negra como para variar un poco. Espero que todos estos materiales me den muchas ganas de trabajar porque realmente los quiero transformar en prendas hermosas ❣️.
