Hola, mi gente de esta bella comunidad en donde la costura es nuestra pasión. Espero hayan iniciado una semana llena de alegrías y oportunidades con la bendición de Dios. Hoy paso muy contenta a mostrarles cómo estuve realizando estos sencillos pero lindos vestidos para mis princesas Ámbar y Arianna; son prácticamente iguales, con una variación en el cuello, así que se los muestro los dos de una vez.
El motivo de estos vestidos fueron los carnavales, época que me encanta y en la que siempre las disfrazo. Ya Arianna ha crecido bastante, casi me alcanza y todos sus disfraces se los ha pasado a Ámbar, más los que le he comprado, pero ellas se han puesto exigentes con su ropa y le dan prioridad a algo que sea cómodo.
Así que, como en Navidad le regalaron esas raquetas, se me ocurrió hacerle unos trajes deportivos inspirados en la disciplina del tenis. Una prenda que combina sencillez, practicidad, comodidad y que además son lindos.
Para realizar este proyecto estuve realizando los patrones y haciendo los cálculos para la cantidad de tela que necesitaría para la parte de la falda que va palizada.
Utilicé 75 cm de tela rib morado lila para Ámbar y para Arianna en color rosado, 1 metro. Marque los patrones en las telas y luego corte las partes de la blusa y la falda. Cosí los hombros y costados del vestido de Ámbar.
Luego, para coser el de Arianna se me ocurrió hacerle la costura francesa y me gustó mucho el resultado; además, en la parte de atrás de la blusa le hice costura por el centro y así sacar más la silueta del cuerpo.
Para hacer el plisado estuve haciendo unas marcas en las telas y así me coincidiera con el contorno de la cadera.
Una vez que tenía gran parte adelantada de los vestidos, fue que corté las mangas y los cuellos. En cuanto a los cuellos, yo quería comprar los que le colocan a las chemises, pero no tomé en consideración la medida estándar que estos traen.
Así que tuve que hacerlos de la misma tela. Y para el de Arianna no me alcanzó la tela; le hice un acabado con bies de la misma tela; quedó muy bonito. El de Ambar el cuello quedó bien, aunque muy pequeño; le puse unos apliques para que no se levantaran las puntas.

Aquí pueden ver a mis princesas modelando sus outfits para ir para las comparsas; los vestidos les quedaron muy bonitos. En el caso del de Arianna le hice unos arruches con elástica por los costados; ella sentía que se veía muy ceñido al cuerpo y que esos pliegues le daban más volumen a la tela y de verdad que se veía muy lindo, aunque levantaba un poco los costados de la falda; corriendo lejos, ni se nota, jejeje.
También les hice unas bandanas de tela con elongación en color blanco, para que hicieran juego con sus zapatos y con las raquetas, que por cierto solo las usaron para estas fotos, ya que cuando nos bajamos del carro para ver las comparsas, se quedaron. Por una parte fue lo mejor, porque me tocaría a mí cargarlas, jejeje.
Como ven, sus outfits no son coloridos como los característicos del carnaval, pero mis niñas estaban preciosas y estas son sus primeras prendas en donde, como hermanas, se visten con el mismo modelo de ropa y hechas por su mami con mucho amor.
Además, al ser unicolores y sin tantos adornos, resaltaban entre los brillos y colores.

Dresses for my princesses to wear during carnival
Hello, my friends in this beautiful community where sewing is our passion. I hope you have started a week full of joy and opportunities with God's blessing. Today, I am very happy to show you how I made these simple but beautiful dresses for my princesses Ámbar and Arianna. They are practically identical, with a slight variation in the neckline, so I will show you both at once.
The reason for these dresses was carnival, a time of year that I love and when I always dress them up. Arianna has grown quite a bit, she's almost as tall as me now, and she has passed all her costumes on to Amber, plus the ones I've bought her, but they have become picky about their clothes and prioritise comfort.
So, as they were given those rackets for Christmas, I decided to make them some sports outfits inspired by tennis. An item of clothing that combines simplicity, practicality, comfort and is also cute.
To carry out this project, I made the patterns and calculated the amount of fabric I would need for the pleated part of the skirt.
I used 75 cm of lilac purple rib fabric for Amber and 1 metre of pink fabric for Arianna. I marked the patterns on the fabric and then cut out the parts for the top and skirt. I sewed the shoulders and sides of Amber's dress.
Then, to sew Arianna's dress, I decided to use a French seam and I really liked the result. I also sewed down the centre of the back of the blouse to bring out the silhouette of the body.
To make the pleats, I made marks on the fabric so that they would match the contour of the hips.
Once I had most of the dresses done, I cut the sleeves and collars. As for the collars, I wanted to buy the ones they put on chemises, but I didn't take into account the standard size they come in.
So I had to make them from the same fabric. I didn't have enough fabric for Arianna's, so I finished it with bias binding from the same fabric; it turned out very nicely. Ambar's collar turned out well, although it was very small; I added some appliqués so that the edges wouldn't curl up.

Here you can see my princesses modelling their outfits for the comparsas; the dresses looked very pretty on them. For Arianna's dress, I added some elasticated pleats at the sides; she felt that it was too tight-fitting and that these pleats gave the fabric more volume. It really did look very pretty, although it lifted the sides of the skirt a little; when running, you can't even notice it, hehehe.
I also made them some white stretch fabric bandanas to match their shoes and rackets, which, by the way, they only wore for these photos, because when we got out of the car to watch the parades, they stayed behind. On the one hand, it was for the best, because I would have had to carry them, hehehe.
As you can see, their outfits aren't as colourful as the typical carnival outfits, but my girls looked beautiful and these are their first clothes where, as sisters, they are wearing the same style of clothing, made by their mummy with lots of love.
Also, being plain colours and without too many embellishments, they stood out among the glitter and colours.
