Happy day to everyone, a new sewing Monday, we hope you are having a great time. As for sewing, today I am going to share with you a job I did transforming a men's shirt, this shirt with checkered designs is excellent for this garment model I made.
My friend asked me to do something for her granddaughter, and she brought me this shirt that her husband stopped wearing, so she could turn it into a skirt for her little granddaughter.
She had already seen some models and wanted a skirt with adjustable straps and buttons, so she could put the skirt on.
Here I show you the steps taken, they are easy and simple to do.
Feliz dÃa para todos un nuevo lunes de costura, esperando la estén pasando muy bien. En cuanto a la costura hoy les vengo a compartir un trabajo que hice transformando una camisa de hombre, esta camisa con diseños de cuadros, es excelente para este modelo de prenda que hice.
Mi amiga me pide el favor de hacerle algo a su nieta, y me trajo esta camisa que ya su esposo dejo de usar, para poder convertirla en una falda para su pequeña nieta.
Ya ella habÃa visto unos modelos y quiso una falda con sus tirantes y botones ajustables, para poder colocarse la falda.
Aquà te muestro los paso realizados son fáciles y sencillos de hacer.
My materials:
A large men's shirt.
Elastic.
Length measurements.
Buttons from the same shirt.
Pins, tape measure, sewing machine.
Mis materiales:
Una camisa grande de hombre.
Elástica.
Medidas de largo.
Botones de la misma camisa.
Alfileres, cinta metrica, maquina de coser.
First, I measure the length of the skirt, in this case it measures 30cm, across the entire width of the shirt.🪡
En primer lugar tomo la medida del largo de la falda, en este caso mide 30cm, por todo el ancho de la camisa.
I made some pleats, just on the front part. Take a long strip for the waistband that is 3cm wide.
I sewed this strip to the part of the skirt, then I inserted the elastic.
Le hice unos plises, en la parte delantera nada mas. Saque una tira larga para la pretina que tiene de ancho 3cm.
Cosà esta tira a la parte de la falda, luego introduzco la elástica.
It will be wrinkled but do not put the elastic on the front. As seen in the photo.
Va a quedar arruchada pero en la parte del frente no coloque la elastica. Como se aprecia en la foto.
Then I closed the part where the buttons are attached so that it doesn't open.
Luego cerré la parte donde lleva los botones para que no se vaya abrir.
Then taking out two other long strips, which are the ones I am going to place by sewing them on the back, and on the front I place two buttons on each strap, so that it can be adjusted to the size that best fits it. I also made its two leaves for its buttons.
To complete this outfit, I made a headband out of the same fabric, cutting a wide strip, and to adjust it I placed an elastic band lined in its fabric.
Después sacando otras dos tiras largas, que son las que voy a colocar cosiéndolas en la parte de atrás, y en la parte delantera le coloco dos botones en cada tirante, para que se pueda ajustar a la medida que mejor le quede. Asi mismo le hice sus dos hojales para sus botones.
Para completar este outfit, le hice un cintillo de la misma tela, cortando una tira ancha, y para ajustar le coloque elastica forrada en su tela.
This is how pretty this outfit for a girl turned out, and it can be combined with a white or colored flannel, depending on your taste.
If you have any item of clothing that you no longer use, we can transform it into something for the little ones in the house, even for yourself, combining them with other scraps of fabric and being able to change its style, that is if the fabric is still visible. good condition, because there are fabrics that wear out a lot due to their use.

Asi quedo de bonito este conjunto para niña, y se puede combinar con una franela blanca o de color, dependiendo de su gusto.
Si tienes alguna prenda de vestir, que ya no uses, podemos transformarla, en algo para los mas pequeños de la casa, incluso para uno mismo, combinándolas con otros retazos de tela y poder cambiar su estilo, eso si la tela aun se ve en buen estado, porque hay telas que por su uso se desgastan mucho.
