Greetings to all of you, I hope you are doing well today. I haven't posted in a few months, as I was busy with some sewing projects in December that I had committed to and had to have ready by the specified date. Doing this sewing work is a great help to me, as it is part of my income. And since I also had other sewing projects that were behind schedule, I've been catching up so that I don't have a backlog of unfinished work. Today I want to show you how I made a dress for a girl out of blue fabric with a black strip at the waist. Her mom requested this style and color because it's from the animated series The Powerpuff Girls, representing Bubbles, dressed in light blue. It was for her birthday, as she loves these characters. In this case, the simple, traditional dress is the most common style that has been used for many years, as its style and construction with good fabric cuts will make it as comfortable as possible, and then it can be transformed into another desired design.
Saludos tengan todos ustedes, esperando se encuentren muy bien en este dia. Hace unos meses no publicaba, ya que en el mes de diciembre estuve ocupada con algunas costuras, donde estaba comprometida y tenía que tenerlas lista a la fecha indicada, además al realizar estos trabajos de costura, para mi es de gran ayuda, ya que es parte de mi ingreso económico. Y como también había tenido otras costuras atrasadas, me he estado poniendo al día, para no tener trabajo acumulado sin terminar. Hoy quiero mostrarles como hice un vestido para niña, en tela de color azul, y en la parte de la cintura lleva una franja de color negro, su mami mando hacer este modelo y color porque es de la serie animada Chicas superpoderosa, representando a Burbuja, vestida de color azul claro, y como era para su cumpleaños, ya que le encanta estos personajes. En este caso el vestido sencillo y tradicional, es el más común utilizado desde hace muchos años, ya que su estilo y elaboración con buenos cortes de tela se hará lo más cómodo posible, y así luego poder transformarlo en otro diseño deseado.
To make this dress, using the measurements provided (in this case, size 10), the first thing I do is cut out the skirt, which I made circular so that it would be a little loose, and gathered at the waist. For this model, I make a lining, and I attach two layers of the same lining fabric to the lining to give it a little volume, as shown in the photo. I cut the ruffles for this lining twice the width of the skirt and made them about 12 cm high. This will depend on the number of layers and the length of the skirt.
Para poder hacer este vestido, por supuesto con las medidas indicadas, en este caso es talla 10, donde lo primero que hago es cortar la parte de la falda, la cual lo hice en forma circular para que le quedara un poco amplia, y haciéndole en la parte de la cintura arruchada. Para este modelo le hago su forro, y al forro le pegue dos capas de la misma tela de forro, para darle un poco de volumen, como muestro en la foto. Los faralaos de este forro los cortos el doble de ancho de la falda y lo hice como 12cm de alto. Esto va a depender de la cantidad de capas y al mismo tiempo del largo de la falda.
Cut out the entire front of the blouse and the back in two pieces so that you can attach the zipper.
Sew the shoulders, then attach the bias tape to the neckline and armholes. On these parts, I make a topstitch so that it looks nice. I also place the other black fabric on the waist or waistline, so that when I attach the skirt, I will already have the required measurement.
I start by sewing the skirt to the blouse, as well as the lining.
When it is almost ready, I attach the zipper very carefully so that it fits perfectly. I made the hem with a simple seam.
La blusa saque la parte del frente entera, y la parte de la espalda en dos partes, para poder colocar el cierre. Coso la parte de los hombros, luego le coloco el sesgo que va en la parte del cuello y en las sisas, en estas partes le hago una sobre costura, para que quede bien. También con la otra tela de color negro, la coloco sobre la parte del talle o cintura, así cuando coloque la parte de la falda ya tendré la medida requerida. Empiezo cosiendo la parte de la falda a la blusa, como también la parte del forro. Cuando ya casi esta lista le coloco el cierre, con mucho cuidado, para que pueda quedar muy bien. Le hice su ruedo con costura sencilla.
The dress turned out very well made, it fit the girl perfectly, and she was able to wear it to enjoy her birthday.
The style of the dress is simple, as it is a classic model, because we see this model in many dresses. What sets it apart are the type of fabric and colors. In addition, this sleeveless model looks very cute.
El vestido quedo muy bien hecho, a la niña le quedo muy bien, y así pudo ponérselo para poder disfrutar de su cumpleaños. El estilo del vestido es sencillo, ya que es un modelo clásico, porque este modelo lo vemos en muchos vestidos, lo que lo diferencia, son el tipo de tela y colores. Además, este modelo sin mangas queda muy lindo.
