Hola amigos de Needle Work, como están? Llevo un tiempo sin compartir mis creaciones porque conseguí un nuevo trabajo y aún estoy acomodando mis tiempos y mis ganas de contarles todo. Por empezar, con la llegada de diciembre, llegaron algunas ideas a mi mente. Les cuento un poco, mi nombre es Erika, y desde que recuerdo, soy emprendedora y vivo enamorada del arte, los artistas, lo histórico, los museos y también libros. Además he empezado a tejer hace poco más de un año y la creatividad brota por todos lados.

To begin with, with the arrival of December, some ideas came to my mind. I have also started knitting a little over a year ago and creativity springs up everywhere.

Se me ocurrió hace no mucho esta idea de mezclar un poco todos mis intereses y motivaciones en algo puntual que tenga que ver con mi proyecto actual de tejido. Y como siempre estoy buscando desafíos, comencé por aquí. Intentar e intentar hasta que una forma de cuerpo básico y customizable surgiera. Lo conseguí pese al trabajo que me dio y que pudieron ver en los Luffys que tejí con distintas agujas. Me emocioné mucho al lograrlo.

Porqué lo elegí primero?
Bueno, antes que nada, porque es mi artista favorito y quería contarlo aquí. Siempre me ha llamado la atención su historia, su vida, su arte y su manera de transmitirlo. Luego llegó a mi lo que llamo “la biblia de Van Gogh” aquí tengo tantos datos que es el libro que más amo estos días.
Why did I choose him first?
Well, first of all, because he is my favorite artist and I wanted to tell it here. I have always been struck by his story, his life, his art and his way of transmitting it. Then came to me what I call "the bible of Van Gogh" here I have so many facts that is the book I love the most these days.
Pero entonces, ¿por qué en diciembre?
La historia dirá que en víspera navideña, Vincent fue encontrado en su habitación en Arles- Francia, desmayado, inconsciente. En cuanto al tejido en especial, este amigurumi tiene un gorro que simula ser de paja y se quita, y justo debajo vemos el cabello y una gasa que tapa la herida oreja izquierda, su tamaño es de 13 o 14 cm y he logrado tejer el cuerpo en solo dos partes, al principio hice la cabeza y el cuerpo, y luego ambas piernas. Después de que las piernas estén unidas entre sí, continué uniendo todo en una sola pieza. Solo quedan los brazos, estos no se quitan del saco, entonces los cosí al cuerpo luego de tener realizado el saco. Ahora llega la hora de los detalles, barba, pelo y oreja. Y lo último es dejar lo más fijo posible el vendaje, sin dar puntadas muy fuertes que pueden deformar a Vincent. Agregamos el gorro, y listo. Tengo el primer personaje listo de esta entrega que me emociona estar creando!

We add the cap, and that's it. I have the first character ready for this installment that I'm excited to be creating!
