Today I will show you this special embroidery, let's see, all of them were special, since handwork and personal work I am passionate about, but this detail is very joyful for me. Throughout my whole life (and I mean all my life, seriously, since I was 3 or 4 years old) I had a fixation with everything oriental.
Hoy les mostraré este bordado especial, a ver, todos fueron especiales, ya que el trabajo a mano y personal me apasiona, pero este detalle es muy alegre para mi. A lo largo de toda mi vida (y digo toda, en serio, ya desde los 3 o 4 años) se notaba en mí una fijación con todo lo oriental.

Años más tarde estudiaría idioma japonés y viviría experiencias fantásticas, cuando sabes que te están brillando los ojos porque la clase está fascinante, fue ahí cuando descubrí la mítica figura del Daruma, que además de ser un amuleto de la buena suerte, me resulta bonito, la idea además es que por su forma ovoide siempre queda de pie, aunque se bambolee hacia los lados.
His eyes are totally white, they say that he blinded and lost arms and legs in his meditation. That is why we will use him today as an amulet in this way, you make a wish, paint one of his eyes, this is like giving him a goal, and work to fulfill it. When the time comes to fulfill that dream or request, we paint the other eye as a thank you, we give him back his sight. Very symbolic and charming for me.
Sus ojos son totalmente blancos, dicen que encegueció y perdió brazos y piernas en su meditación. Por eso lo usaremos hoy en día como amuleto de esta manera, se le pide un deseo, se pinta uno de sus ojos, esto es como otorgarle un objetivo, y se trabaja para cumplirlo. Al llegar el momento de cumplir aquel sueño o pedido, pintamos el otro ojo como agradecimiento, le devolvemos la vista. Muy simbólico y encantador para mi.
This time, the weaving did not take me much time, but I was very careful, since the oriental letters had to be readable, I tried with the camera of my cell phone, to translate it and it worked, that made me very happy. The details in gold were also to my liking, only once finished I noticed that the eyes were not perfect circles, but now, what am I going to do? take it apart? No, I won't do that. I will learn to love myself and my work, a little defective, but beautiful and made with love.
En esta oportunidad, el tejido no me llevó mucho tiempo, pero si fui muy cuidadosa, ya que las letras orientales tenían que poder leerse, lo intenté con la cámara de mi móvil, para traducirlo y sí funcionó, eso me dejó muy contenta. Los detalles en dorado también quedaron a mi gusto, solo una vez terminado noté que los ojos no eran círculos perfectos, pero ya, qué voy a hacerle? desarmarlo? No, eso no lo haré. Aprenderé a quererme a mi y a mis trabajos un poco defectuosos, pero lindos y realizados con amor.
As I got to the end, I was stuck on the idea of making a border on all, or most of the embroidery, a very serious idea. I did it, but at what cost? I used some black mini sequins and I was really more crazy about that final part than the rest of the embroidery, I asked myself many times if it was worth that effort, since I wanted to abandon the final part several times thinking that it would not even be noticed.
Ya llegando al final, me quedé prendida a la idea de realizar un borde en todos, o en la mayoría de los bordados, una gravísima idea. lo logré, pero a qué costo? Utilicé unas mini lentejuelas negras y realmente me enloqueció más esa parte final, que el resto del bordado, me pregunté muchas veces si valía ese esfuerzo, ya que quise abandonar el final varias veces pensando que ni se notaría.
Anyway, the final result was this, I always show you the back, so that you can see several details, the first one is that they are not glued, since I was asked once if I did it with glue. On the other hand, the neatness that I try to improve each time and that when trimming the edges there are no threads that could suffer untimely cuts and ruin the work.
En fin, el resultado final fue este, les muestro siempre el dorso, para que se vean varios detalles, el primero es que no están pegadas, ya que me preguntaron si lo hacía con pegamento en una oportunidad. Por otro lado, la prolijidad que trato de mejorar cada vez y que al recortar los bordes no quede ningún hilo atravesado que pueda sufrir cortes inoportunos y arruinar el trabajo.
