Hello friends sewing lovers, a pleasure to share another great experience with you, I mentioned in the first publication that I made that I am a novice in sewing but with many desires to learn every day. Whenever I have the opportunity I create new pieces on an old brother machine inherited from an aunt. Here are some super easy children's shorts, in fact ideal for beginners like me.
I used patterns I had at home with industrial measurements for size 6, little by little between free time I cut each piece, using pins, I tried to leave 1 cm to mark with chalk before cutting. These little shorts were a gift for my godson who had a birthday. I used microdurazno fabric that I had at home and had used to make pajamas, I also had some printed microfiber fabric, I had a little left for a pair of shorts. I cut 10 pieces (front and back), I like to identify each piece, it is very useful.
I zig zag stitched each piece, as a witty anecdote I tell you that at the beginning my machine made a terrible noise when zig zagging, the thread was bursting and I honestly thought about stopping sewing, it scared me to death with those noises, it even got tangled with the fabric and I couldn't find a way to remove the tangle, it was frustrating, it turns out that I was not placing the thread properly, it should be taut and I had to adjust the tension between 2 and 3, I used a tiny zig zag and that was it. I learned to do the false overlock, well I'm trying, ha, ha, ha, ha straight stitching stuck to the zig zag, little by little I'm improving.
These pants have a straight seam, I did my best to sew them well, my intention is for my godson to enjoy them and see him wearing them, that smile is priceless. I really enjoy sewing on the machine, as I discover new things, implementing tips I get more enthusiastic. Each pair of pants has drawstrings made of the same fabric and sewn straight. Each piece was ironed for a better finish.
I like to share experiences, while I was sewing the pants I realized that I had sewn in places I shouldn't have in the waistband, so when it was time to insert the drawstring I couldn't move forward and I had to unpick, something I don't like very much but well, no way, you have to have a lot of patience if you want to do a good job. Each pair of pants has a 4 cm waistband for the drawstring, enough space if you want to place elastic later on.
I can't stop commenting on the fabrics used, I didn't like the microfiber fabric used, it frays, thank goodness we have the zig zag, the good thing is that it is a little thicker than the microdurazno and more resistant for the use of children, I liked the print of carts and that nice blue background. The microdurazno has very nice colors and combinations, besides I can find it cheaper, preferable to wash these pieces by hand for durability.

Hola amigos amantes de la costura, un gusto compartir otra grata experiencia con ustedes, les mencionaba en la primera publicación que realicé que soy novata en la costura pero con muchos deseos de aprender cada día. Cada vez que tengo la oportunidad creo piezas nuevas en una vieja máquina brother heredada de una tía. Les presento unos shorts infantiles super fáciles, de hecho ideales para principiantes como yo.
Usé patrones que tenía en casa con medidas industriales para la talla 6, poco a poco entre ratos libres fuí cortando cada pieza, usando alfileres, procuré dejar 1 cm al marcar con tiza antes de cortar. Estos pequeños pantaloncitos cortos fueron un regalo para mi ahijado que estuvo de cumpleaños. Usé tela microdurazno que tenía en casa y había usado para confeccionar pijamas, también tenía tela de microfibra estampada, me quedaba un poco para un pantaloncito. Corté 10 piezas (delanteras y traseras), me gusta identificar cada pieza, es muy útil.
A cada pieza le pasé costura zig zag, a modo de anécdota ocurrente les cuento que al inicio mi máquina hacía un ruido terrible al pasar zig zag, se reventaba el hilo y sinceramente pensé en dejar de coser, me pegaba cada susto con esos ruido, incluso llegó a enredarse con la tela y no hallaba como sacar ese enredo, era frustrante, resulta que no estaba colocando bien el hilo, este debe estar tenso y me resultó ajustar entre 2 y 3 la tensión, usé un zig zag pequeñito y listo. Aprendí a hacer el falso overlock, bueno lo intento,ja, ja, ja costura recta pegadito al zig zag, poco a poco voy mejorando.
Estos pantaloncito llevan costura recta, hice lo posible para que quedaran bien cosidos, mi intención es que mi ahijado los disfrutara y verlo usarlos,esa sonrisa no tiene precio. Disfruto bastante coser en la máquina, a medida que voy descubriendo cosas nuevas, implementando tips me entusiasmo más. Cada pantaloncito lleva cordones hechos de la misma tela y cosidos en forma recta. Cada pieza fue planchada para un mejor acabado.
Me gusta compartir experiencias, mientrás cosía los pantalones me dí cuenta que había cosido en lugares que no debía en la pretina, por lo cual a la hora de introducir el cordón no podía avanzar y me tocó descoser, algo que no me gusta mucho pero bueno, ni modo, hay que tener mucha paciencia si queremos hacer un buen trabajo. Cada pantalóncito tiene una pretina de 4 cms para el cordón, espacio suficiente si desean colocarle elastica más adelante.
No puedo dejar de comentar respecto a las telas usadas, la tela de microfibra usada no me gustó, se deshilacha, a dios gracias tenemos el zig zag, lo bueno es que es una tela un poco más gruesa que el microdurazno y más resistente para el uso de los chicos, me gustó el estampado de carritos y ese lindo fondo azul. El microdurazno tiene colores y combinaciones muy lindas, aparte de que puedo encontrarla más económica, preferible lavar estas piezas a mano para mayor durabilidad.
