Have been meaning to get myself a wear-on headband and even took a step to fulfil my want, by going to the market to get one, but unfortunately, I couldn't find the right design with the right fabric in one head band, it either the design doesn't meet my taste or the fabric used - there was always something wanting.
Today, I decided to give myself the privilege of owning a headband (I literally don't have any) and putting the floral fabric pieces into good use.
MATERIALS USED.
- The fabric
- Elastic
- Foam
- Matching thread
- Needle
- Scissors
THE STEPS TO BE CONSIDERED IN MAKING IT.
- Measured the circumference of my head, which was about 23½ inches.
- Folded the fabric, using exactly 23½ inches as length and 10 inches as width.
- Divided 23½ inches into two, to ascertain the length of the piping for the ruffles.
- Put it inside the already sewn band and tacked it at both ends.
- Cut a piece of the fabric for the bow, using 8 inches as length and 10 inches as width.
Sew it and leave opening for the turning
- Then put the foam inside the fabric - I needed stamina for my bow.
- After attaching the bow, I placed this on my head in order to know what the length of downward part would be, which was 12 inches with sewing allowance.
- I then cut the elastic (6 inches) and placed it inside the fabric, sewing it both end.
- Joined the downward part with the upper side and it produced this.
Tada! the result are here.
Which style of wearing it do you think is better, this?
Or this?
