Hello Hive
Happy new week to us all, I hope that our days are going on well as planned. Having completed some exercise in the farm earlier today I decided to crown the day with an evening service in the church as we are having a conference throughout this week.
What to wear is always a challenge for many designers especially when we want to appear in different designs and styles everyday.
I can say that designers are one of the most oppressive people out there, they will keep on wearing new clothes and design to advertise their business while people keep getting intimidated 😂😂😂😂
Okay don't get annoyed dearies, I am only selling my brand.
Designers get attracted to fabrics and new designs from every corner of these streets, sometimes I get distracted inside the church admiring the different outfit people wear to church, soon enough I just realize how much I am trying to copy a style in my head or how to make it better than what was sown.
Okay don't get annoyed again if you catch me admiring you, it is just the stuff we are made off.
Having admired so many design I decided to sew one for myself and after sewing this armless dress with front cap, I ended up not wearing it. Sometimes we admire a design but after recreating the style, we just realize that we can't wear what we have sown. This is often my experience and I'm not sure if it happens to other designers.
It has been 2years I made this dress and it has never been worn for once, instead of allowing it lay dormant I decided to recycle it to some new and probably wearable design.
I first unstitched it and removed the cap.
From the cap I was able to cut out some two short sleeves
Next I added a small gathers at the tip of the sleeves
Stitches a hemming for the sleeve
Next I measured out my round sleeve and determined where I will creave the sleeve stitches
Then i notched the midpoint of the sleeves and attached it to the dress
Having done that I closed the zipper allowances and I have onlookers commenting the dress already.
Here is the beautiful new look.
The formal dress had no sleeves and only a cap, that didn't feel right but this is a better version, well recycles and wearable for anyone.
