Hello Hive
It feels good to come around again and see all your creative needlework and post on the blockchain.
I have loved all the series of valentine crafts and trust me I wished and coveted for some as gifts, it was the season of love and needlework felt it more.
I have been a little bit away from sewing for some good reasons.
The year isn't going too well for some of us here.
There is shortage or scarcity of some basic amenities that affected my sewing.
- First it was a power outage that is almost two months now. We have no electricity to work with and though I have a manual sewing machine and would have fall back on that for sewing, I need to do some essential ironing in between to have a neat finishing of any outfit I make.
I can't start using a coal iron now as very discomforting.
- Aside the power outage, we are currently facing a shortage of fuel all over the country and as a result movements have been challenging as there are fewer commercial vehicles to take people around and we have to struggle to find a space on our way back from shopping.
- Fabrics have doubles and tripled in price and purchasing them for my apprentice assignment and practical works were suspended until I have enough funds to do so.
A trouser length of a fabric is from $3 and one needs at least two trouser length for $6 to make any outfit.
These are some three major challenges am facing these days with sewing and I felt that a break will be good.
Though I have my piles of unfinished jobs and have been keeping busing tiding them up one at a time.
I was gifted this fabrics made of two different colors but a matching background pattern and thought of the best way to design a blouse.
I simply felt that a wrap top will bring out the best of it by given one side of it the red color and the other side the navy blue one.
After making the top am not sure if I should add a sleeve to this or leave it as armlet because of the hot weather here.
Most times I make some outfit to fit a season and something loss and free would suit a nice hot weather.
Thank you for your creativity and refreshing post that is keeping this community together.
