I have expected this day to come earlier and most likely hoped that Christmas day was the moment we would have made this memory but it didn't work out that way. And even today it almost didn't, which would have made me feel unhappy but eventually you can see us all here
You may be able to recognize one of two faces in the likes of ,
,
and
who isn't active anymore. We are all a one big family.
This doesn't happen often as we are all growing up so fast and everyone is moving out to start their own homes. The idea of a home coming didn't occur to me at first when I started making appreciation outfit gifts for my sister and siblings to appreciate them for their love care and support and the outfits were meant to be surprised gift to be given out on Christmas day which didn't later happen until today.
I assumed their measurements that is why you can see some irregularities in the fittings of their clothes, but everyone was excited to receive their gifts from me today.
First I made the girls outfits, it took me twice as much time to get this little niece of mine to take picture than it did to make her dress. She wouldn't consent to taking a picture and I have to bribe her with biscuits and everything available.
This would have been my best shot of her but it went blurry
The three girls, my sister Anastasia and two nieces.
All outfits cut and sewn by me
Ladies next
And then to the Guys, my brothers and two little nephews
While I couldn't sew the males outfits, I have giving them out to to help me out and he did a nice job for me.
Nevertheless it is a part of my 2024 goals to learn a bit of male fashion so that I can make nice outfits for my male brothers and relatives.
When I started sewing these outfits it occured to me to make a small arrangement where everyone can come together and create memories like this, family's bond and love is very important and every nations in the world first started as a tiny home.
We should learn to support each other, give out gifts to appreciate one another and show love and care as needed. If we have as many lovely family's in the world who keep this bond of love and also share it with their friends and people outside their homes, our world will be a better place. I do not want a home with grudge, bitterness or envy among siblings hence we put in every effort to keep away even the character differences among siblings and stay united in love.
Before this day I had put a call across to everyone far and near imploring them out in all of their efforts to make it down.
My brother almost didn't make it giving genuine excuses here on WhatsApp but fate turned around in our luck and eventually we had him join us.
After the night vigil of yesterday that lasted into the dawn of today new year, I have taking a brief rest and got to work almost immediately.
I wasn't done with sewing the outfits and had to work on a dress I made yesterday so that I can have something to wear too.
Even though I'm left with some scrabs of the fabric I used for my two elder sis outfits, I barely have enough time to work that out into something for myself so that we can all wear a common outfits.
While sewing I was also the chef in the kitchen, I keep feeling that no one can prepare quality soup 🍲 among my siblings hence i have been doing the task of cooking and sewing all day and on a new year day, who does that? 😂😂
I did make some delicious meal for everyone afterwards with some chicken to go round too.😃
Next it was time for pictures and I dressed everyone up best as I can and here we have the big Family picture of the year, the camera man was a bit unwell and I didn't get the best shot I desired, that was sad 😢 though.
I wished to do some embellishment work on the girls dresses so that that can have some more shine and glitters with some official photoshoot pictures for their outfits. I need some of my sewing to go up on Instagram and start my fashion business page over there.
For my very first post of the year I want to appreciate my siblings and everyone who has supported my sewing career and every other form of support. I remember damaging several of my sister fabrics when I was learning how to sew, she never mind but kept giving me her clothes to practice with.
I also want to appreciate everyone in the needleworkmondays community for their support, encouragement and kindness shown to my mediocre self who became resilient through their numerous kind words and endured all challenges to become a better seamstress today.
Thank you Family
We have made some memories which I will ever be grateful for.
This is us some 6years ago
And this is how far we have come
What do you think of the transformation, my little babies up there are now grownups there in the picture.
Let me stop here for now.
Thank you for reading through.
