I so much love the slogan that says that learning never ends unless we are no more alive. Each and every new day brings an opportunity for us to learn something new both in our lives, career and field of expertise. Along side this if we strive for the mastery of anything, we will do all it takes to give it our best. The sacrifice of sleepless night, hands-on activities and every form of task we do just to become the best in our profession often pay off in the end.
After my fashion skills got better over time I did pick some role models in the fashion industry now of whom I really lookup too in order not to get discouraged along the way.
One of them blew off my wildest imaginations this week you can check out this link and see for yourself how they have used a game of threads to design this Lovely dress a lovely traditional wedding attire.
It was incredible if I'm to describe it.
Whenever I feel discouraged, a glimpse at how these people running their imaginations and creativity creating these beautiful things I get encouraged not to give up.
The key is to keep working everyday, upgrading oneself and learning all there is to learn in our career.
There is so many aspect to fashion.
From Garment construction, to Fashion illustration, Embellishment, Embroidery and lots more. Today I learnt something new, an embellishment technique.
Some lovely embellishment design with precious stones
Although we have very large heavy duty machines in other parts of the world, but since we cannot get our hands on all of them there is always room to improvise.
Instead of positioning these stones by hand which will take a lot of time, they invented these board punching it with different pattern or flower designs
This is one of the boards I have wished to add to my fashion equipment. The board is made with varying designs and soon I will purchase a beautiful one from the market.
With this I just arrange the stones into the holes first , then a transfer sheet is bought which has glue across it's surface. The sheet is then spread on the board to pick up the stones

Next is the use of steam iron to transfer the stones into our fabric.
We equally have a stoning machine that doesn't that but I learnt to improvise using enough water to wet the fabric then place a hot iron on it.
That's it completed and now I have some lovely stone designs along the length of my fabric and the blouse eventfully
Embellishment adds to the beauty of our clothes, the glits and shine you are looking for can be added using this technique and different style of stone design.
